i don't have an direct answer to your question, but you should check this out: http://www.stonesthrow.com/videos/madlib-redbull.ram it's a video interview of madlib; really interesting. he speaks a lot about his recording techniques. for example he mentions not using computers at all. in fact a lot of his stuff, even madvillain, was recorded on an 8-track recorder.

any further help really appreciated... right now i have to change my pc's line out from being hooked up to my mixer when i want to record freestyle cutting over a beat from the pc (cep is meant to record the pc's audio out) to being hooked up to my active monitors when i multitrack (cep's not supposed to record the pc's audio out).

my problem is how to change the settings to not having an echo when skyping and not recording the pc's audio out when multitracking. right now i use active speakers when recording, so the audio out of the pc isn't connected to the mixer. the problem is that i have a different audio menue due to the soundcard. looks like this: what do i have to change? the rec. levels are fine though. any help appreciated...

ok thanks. so would ya'll say it's a fun thing to work with, or is it too limited as you can't "mute" single tracks later on as far as i know... you can only undo the last recorded loop, innit?

when using this, do you have do press start and stop extremely precise to get round/accurate loops, or is there some kind of "auto-lock" for looping?
