  1. I guess if you have plenty of disposable income then it's not a big deal to buy an expensive fader when there are other options. You still have to cut a large slot to make it work, that's not being mentioned. The thought didn't cross my mind that some of you have some serious cash to spend. In the spirit of tinkering and keeping things as low cost and efficient as possible to allow room for more R&D or buying more toys, I prefer the minimalist approach. For those of you on a tight budget you can spend your money on that MP3 Module and other Mods plus have Sharp Cut Fader. The Mod Squad Group is up for 2017 on Facebook and one of the Scratch Homies Matt Smith found a module that will work of the shelf for under $5.00 Plug and Play...DIY Contactless Fader, he added it to the Stanton Focus/OS2 (Micro Focus Fader) it's one of my little secrets, I was waiting after NAMM but he let the cat out of the bag sooo look into it if it peak your interest. Other things are bubbling too.. The rule of the group is to credit the source and group, so I have done that here. Only sharing here to keep the DIY Fader Momentum going, to save you money so you can buy a FX Pedal for Modding or other gadgets. The Innofader monopoly is done and over with, if it's your preference coo use it but imho, it slowed down and stagnated innovation in the scratch arts once it leveled off...It only matters if you are into the cultural aspect though.... Next up is the FX Pedals and different accessories to compliment the cuts...2017 Let's Gooo....
  2. Nice and just like that the Tables Turn, look mah no lag :-)Glad I could be of some help. One Step closer to the FF v1.0 being installed.
  3. lol.. no im not a rep but I mean I might as well get some sort of compensation for pushing his stuff along so much... I just have the og innofader from my aem 100i that id like to put to use. I agree that the innofader is overkill for the pt01 and that he is making a killing with the demand (they're $110 btw). I'm willing to do what I can to help further the community as well and if you can provide me with information as to what I need to do with the focus fader I'm up for it. I'm trying to get passes for NAMM too. Really curious about the Kallisto fader. Since you already had one it's coo, there is no reason to spend anymore funds. Just elbow grease. 110$, that's more ridiculous dough imho. To get a sharp cut and put inside the Portable? What happens when it starts bugging out, open your turntable every time to adjust it?Is another adjuster board is in the works for the Portables :-)... You can get 4 or 5 Focus Faders v1.0 for that price :-)No lag issues ever...The link I posted is verified, one of the other Scratch Homies just posted a video and he received his in the mail. I don't make any profits and over the years I've been asked if I had any, could easily pick up a few a resell but nawww. Just doing a genuine service to the Scratch Arts... Highly recommended for that price before they go out of stock or increase the price. Even if anyone of you have some funds to spare, pick one up so you can get a sense of History and see what the Fuzz has been about. I have a small circuit to get the Focus Faders V1.0 to work with Regular PT-01, initially intended for the Non-VCA Mixers, I don't have to many made since the Slipmats are taking all my time now but you will need a Focus Fader in the future. My intuition tells me the New Fader will be a Pro-X with the TKD Technology,TKD made the Vestax PCV faders and they have some new Contact Free Faders that are real nice, quality shtuff.. We needed some real competition to move things along in the fader scene so it is refreshing to see Mixars and ProX getting it done. I'll send you a message if you don't mind, I have a question about the PT-01 Scratch connections...That will help in the getting the FF v1.0 to work.
  4. Hi In my opinion focus fader is the best fader out there. It is simple and does what I need, it cuts without any unnecessary tension-fade calibrations and other expensive stuff. I try to find out how it works I am not so good at circuits and i cant read a circuit diagram so i opened my fader and tried to understand and I need your help to tell me if i got it right. So here is the focus fader This is a drawing I made So the powers comes in at V+ and it brakes to 2 ''paths''. The one powers the 2 opto interrupters and then goes to Ground. The other sends power to VC1 and VC2 which are the channels of the mixer, so when there is power sent the sound is ON but when the opto interrupter is closed there is no power sent so the sound is OFF. Both channels are connected to ground with resistor. Did i get it right? Is this how it works? Checking in,2017... It's a minimalist approach. Even now there is no need for anything more complicated with added circuits. Maybe even less complicated since scratching is getting more and more precise. I have smd reflective sensors from the 90's so it's not something that was overlooked, once Stanton was involved there was no need to do anymore work. It was easier to drill holes on the side panels and insert the 2mm IR Leds for me at the time. People forget I wasn't some rich kid that could afford to buy supplies to make circuit boards :-) It's the reason why the FF v1.0 came to exist to begin with, cheap faders were $60 and Alps/Vestax $120. Against all odds it made it to Stanton and they took it to the finish line, the interrupter is what they stayed with. There are no rules, whichever way achieve your result that's valid. Time to add Faders to an FX Box....
  5.   That would be cool. Especially at that price. I spoke with Elliot and he said "The original Innofader wires are in a different order...without the mod, you're actually shorting out a power supply when you move the fader." So hopefully he will give me more information about this. On another note Elliot also said that he has mini innofader pnp p in stock that he will be modding for the PT01 Scratch. So for anyone waiting I suggest you try and get one as there is something like 50 available.   50 available? At 90$ a piece that's $4,500, that's a lot of dough :-) Are you a rep for Innofader? It's not much work to connect FF V1.0. If you are just going to be Scratching and need Sharp Cuts then the Innofader is overkill and a little too expensive to be experimenting with imho. I'm not sure where Full Compass got their stock and I'm interested to find out for a few reasons but it's a great opportunity since they haven't been available for a very long time, highly recommended. I don't have a Pt-01 Scratch or else I'd get it done, it's 20 seconds worth of time for Rasteri so let's see what he comes up with the OS2 Switches, which are essentially Micro FF 1.0. So it will be the same configuration. I'll wait till NAMM to see what is coming out before I put more time into this, there will probably be some new designs. If not I'll get a Pt-01 Scratch and do it for the cause...
  6. The Focus Fader V1.0 or OS2 (Micro Focus Fader) Should work without much Modding, Rasteri said he has an OS2 and was going to check it out, Not sure what happened with that. Any updates Andy? Some how this company got a hold of Focus Faders V1.0 and are a super low price, anyone that's been asking me or are interested grab one and give it a go...It's been verified and they do have them and are legit... Focus Fader V1.0 Link
  7. Ok, here is an inside view of the OS2, Let's also call them Micro Focus Fader v1.0... Notice the 2 Interrupters? The resistors are missing because I was experimenting with this one, I didn't want to take a new one apart for pictures. Regardless, this shows you the Pinouts with text, all you need to get to work imho.
  8. OK I have the focus fader v1 and I have the OS2 switches at home. Is it possible to connect the focus fader or the OS2 switches without any other elctronic stuff to the PT01??? Can I connect the cables from the Numark PT01 switch to the focus fader and it will work or do I have to do some modification??? If we are talking Numark PT-01 Scratchidy Scratch version..Should be a matter of matching the pins that Rasteri posted.. Regardless everything needed is already in the Focus Fader v1.0 and OS2 (Micro Focus Fader) so worst case scenerio you can reroute the connections as needed... I don't have a PT-01 Scratch myself or else it be done by now... I'll post a picture of the OS2 Pinouts in a minute...
  9. Here is a closeup of the Pinouts for the Focus Fader v1.0. The OS2 (Micro Focus Fader) will most likely just drop in the slot since it was made to fit in place of a toggle switch. The Screw holes on the OS2 match those on a Toggle so you can also swap the plate if need be... You can also use a Regular size Fader Cap on the OS2's if you want to rock some a Cool Cap,Vestax,Stanton etc.. It looks like Numark made it pretty mod friendly this time around, that was one of the things that also helped the 05pro. Real Fresh Shtuff...
  10. While I'm on these forums might as well add something constructive... Who has a Fader a Dremel with Buffing Polishing/Buffing Disc that wants to get Frankenstein with it?... Before the Fader Gets installed into a Portable it would be good to Mod the Fader so as to get a Sharp Cut... 1. By removing the Resistance Track with the Polishing Wheel it will smooth it out and minimize the bump at the ends... The trick will be to not remove to much of the trace on the ends, a small piece of tape to block the section we want and keep from going past the sweet spot will do the trick... 2. Or Converting Fader Metal/Contacts andTracks into a Switch ala JDXr Fader... I was planning on making videos for a bunch of mods but...whoever has the time and tools it's overdue... Let's get it started....If you convert a High Quality Fader Into a Sharp Cut and install it that will cure most of the problems... This would be perfect for those Pro X Fades that are in the wild, those Vestax PCV Faders too.
  11. All fresh, I didn't see the props and it's over blown online...It's not the material which makes the difference it's the concept / mechanics...Anti-Slip Material...for Conditioning...Muscle Memory...etc..blah... I keep saying and will say it again...Just like the Slipmats everyone should make their own version.. This subject just keeps following me around but it doesn't really register on my meter... The issue is that the Arts are finally at a level where these different training tools can be appreciated and the work that I put it needs to be acknowledged so that I can finally recoup all the hard work money invested that went in creating these things that were to soon for the Arts.... Also big mentions to ZV@Sqratchattack a big supporter of all the Focus Training Tools, he put in his work, it's sad that he didn't get to see this Scratch Nerd ish flourish....Rip... The money for the press I use to cut, my Slipmats and Gripmats hasn't been recouped yet...The cost for the machine that I use to cut Vinyl Down to any custom size hasn't been recouped... We are talking from the late 90's and on till now....Who the funk wanted Records cut down to size back in the early 2000's? haha Not many.... Too many muthafunkin stories to tell and really, I'm responding to you cuase you're doing your thing and know it's not from a bad place...otherwise I was fresh out fvcks along time agoooo... Back involved in the Arts because I have some unfinished business, and things are moving.... As for the Fader all coo you're not interested,I didn't invent the fader, you 100% correct... To deny me any kind of props on the Contact Free Fader though, gives us a view of some of your colors... If you have more insight or information, let's hear it... The Focus Fader created a new paradigm by making it Con-tactless and Low Resistance... Rane,Ecler,Vestax,Innofader,Pioneer, Pro X is back in the game...etc..etc...They came after the fact... When was the last time you heard static from your fader? Bleeding? How about Super Sharp Cuts? Low resistance and Sharp Cuts allowed for new techniques and crunchier cuts... You are benefiting from my work, the work I put in back in the 1990s...If you scratch on any mixer with a Contactless Fader then you are most definitely interested... If you are cutting with a Portable Turntable and waiting on a Solid Contactless Fader, you are interested... If you have a Dope Fader Design to contribute then Fresh, the more the better, it will help to keep things growing... I also didn't get rich of the Focus Fader or any of the other Stanton Designs...Didn't handle the business correctly, was naive and over altruistic, doing it for the Culture, now back to posting on forums haha...Not the same though, much, much, much, different.... Your real test will be when you release...Product Number 2....Will it be some Newness that nobody has done before or will it be a copy of something existing?...That's your personal journey, if you want to push yourself or not is not my concern... My concern is what I contribute and what I bring to the table, if the reward is not financial then at least it's acknowledgement from my Scratch Nerd Peers but even without it I'm still on the same mission...I learned from this experience... This is a dead topic, time to move on.... Theodore said it best... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBieKTwkIDg
  12. What funk?... It's not that critical, this took on a life of its own haha... This issue doesn't even register on my meter got bigger things going on in life,I'm on a trajectory and none of these is in my vision of future... This just kept coming back to me...I roll through these Digital Vertigo Oasis once in awhile and blam, there it was again haha...Digital Vertigo one of the few surviving forums that I respect and blam there it is again... Eitherway Let's keep it flowing, everyone has their own perspective, passion towards projects is coo...brings out some good work that arts benefit from... Trying to Punk me not coo, that's another beast by itself and we can move on from that...
  13. What the F*ck...:-) Yeah, okay I'll get right on that F"N NEMCIS.... I'm in my 40's and been in it since 1986, you're not familiar with my work?... You must be confusing me for some internet Troll, if you're good with Charles then he already schooled you on the fact that I posted some of the re-makes a few years back... Made this in 2004, part of the "Precision Incisions" System, all designs interconnect..etc..etc... I'm vocal when people take or copy my work and try to take credit...Period... No threats or insults are going to change that...I don't copyright or patent ish so as to keep the Arts flow going, now that would be some real beef if I did decide too... Everyone should make their own variations just like the Sipmats, said it before and saying it againnn, same goes for any other designs... Now just like any other Business,Brand or Artist, a body of work gets established and reputation built from that... You want to establish yourself? Go in the lab and come up with some real ish that know-one has done before... It's 2016, brainstorm some ish that people in 2026 will want to copy...If not then give credit were credit is due and build from that...not complicated... I'm not loosing sleep over this, I comment on when these kind of posts pop up about the inventor..when scratch nerds send me a link to the real inventor..shhh Get funk out here with that... If you are genuinely saying that you weren't familiar with my Gripmats then coo, I'll take it at face value but how about you correct these kids that are uniformed, that would be some real professional ish... Not only are these kids getting it wrong, they are off by over 12 years, being conservative so as to not give details on some of my other ishness... This kind of weak sauce is why I haven't released the Portable Controller One mod to go with the Super Ultra Pitch.. Why the how to make you're own Contactless Fader for the Portables Hasn't been released yet On and On lots of coo ish but taking a new approach.....
  14. Made these back in 2004 ish, been around since 1986...Just another one of my gadgets... It's 100% customary to give props/credit I do it all the time and correct myself when I'm wrong.. If I was an MC and Someone bit a verse or whole song, Artists would say something... If I was Painter and someone bit copied my painting then I would say something... I've had my Gripmats on my site for a few years now...www.djfocus.com when I started re-making them a few years back I posted on my FB Page... My FB posts are older then some of these new jacks biting haha ish... The internet has made it ok to grab and go.... I didn't invent the Slipmat or the wheel and can't stop anyone from making them any Gripmats or other training tools...As a matter of fact I promote and work on inspiring ideas and constantly help scratch nerds out...I said it before and I'll say it again... Like the Slipmats every Company or Artists should make a variation or put their own twist to it... The Scratch Arts are at the level where different training tools and accessorizes are needed now just like in the Guitar/Drum/Piano Scene.... It's just a piece of Anti-Slip Material, nothing special...but it is an extension of the "Precision Incisions" 7 Inch records that I released in 1999...I pressed the 12 inch versions...to give increased resistance... It's part of a bigger picture but overall lots of time, energy and money went into everything I did back in the days... This Scratch Nerd ish was young so I barely broke even with the 7 Inch Records, Thudrumble didn't want to distribute and neither did most of the other distributors.... All my designs are interconnected, now that everything is more evolved and people are actually paying for training tools and the Arts are appreciated on a different level, I get to finally receive a return but it won't happen as easy if all my designs get picked apart with no acknowledgement...Make sense?...
  15. Well my Sliders are a double layer material....Felt underneath and Polyester Fabric on top...I haven't check out all the Stokyo Slipmats out there but the the Table Cloths I saw recently at guitar center are almost identical... I don't know if the Stokyo Mix Slipmats are 2 layers or just a single felt piece, like the Sicmats but I think that might be the case... The Sewer Slimes were the original Butter Rugs and the scratch ones are similar to those, 2 layers and very thin... It looks like the Stokyo 7 Inch mats use the same felt I use, which is thin / less then 1mm and rigid... I've been dragging my feet a bit since all my Scratch Goods are Hand Crafted out of my House / Zendo so I don't push them as much and most def don't give out too many freebies..It's all labor intensive. Because I don't promote as much these douschy kids with no moral compass hijack my designs and start trending :-) hahaha.... It is why I stopped posting and contributing for free some of the coo ish I have, I'll be stepping it up soon...
  16. This giant picture is a nice touch...But it's nothing new... Anyone that has been around long enough and took their scratch practice serious knows, owns and used the hand strengthening tools that already exist from the get go.... The Gripmaster and Dyna Flex are two of the popular ones..The original Gripmat was the Rubber Mat that came with the Technics 1200's.. If you don't understand or can see the differences between a tool that is for scratching, fast twitch muscles and muscle memory I'm not going to take that time to explain it to you, especially after this giant picture / tacky post with no text :-)..hahah... What was it you were implying with this?, that it was already created....If so then Guitar Players should use my Gripmats and a turntable instead of the Gripmaster for finger strength and dexterity....:-)
  17. Let's get the record straight... 1. My Gripmats have been around since early 2000's... These kid is fronting like he invented them...Just like Slipmats every every brand and artist should have a version no biggie...It's the fronting that's weak sauce... 2. You can also Tape or Glue a $1 bin Vinyl to a Scratch Record to give it more weight for resistance training... This is why My "Precision Incisions" 7 inch Scratch Record was also released in a 12 inch Format... Same Scratch Sentences from the 7 Inch Record, In reverse, at 45 rpm (For Speed Training) and at 33 1/3. It's Resistance Training and Muscle Memory... 3. These Drillmatz are just the neoprene foam you get at walmart or hardware store for your shelves, I used different materials and it was one of them...just go a buy a roll for $5 and make 20 of them by cutting them out yourself... 4. If you want to support the original Artist Creator and fund future projects like the contactless fader for the portables and other coo Scratch Artist ish then...support those Artists that put the work in not those that copy other Artist. I just made a few pieces available, on the website search for Gripmats... www.Djfocus.com http://www.djfocus.com/Shop.html#!/Gripmats-v1-0-Scratch-Training-Resistance-Mat-7-Inch-Adapter/p/26731654/category=15822061 Focus...
  18. What ups Scratch Homies :-)... I couldn't stay away from this topic, the innovation comment got me to respond on FB, it's been lacking Imo. The Fretless Fader is the freshest thing to date but it's not current, we are still patientlyyyyy waiting on Beez too..:-) Aside from all the modding and upgrades that's been bubbling and picking up steam not much was being done by the companies with resources imho. The Innofader has been selling for years but where are the other innovations at?Giving away free faders and sponsoring events is a way to market and get more sells not innovation. The Scratch Arts are getting bigger and bigger so now there is tension and drama that is more about money and territory imo. The innofader is simply a successful product not an innovation, there are plenty of Artists cutting it up with Rane and Pioneer Mixer Faders, Sirness on FB is still ripping it up with the Focus Fader v1.0 1,000 years later haha... Taking over the Scratch Fader Market and then not doing anything else in how many years... That is stagnation and slowing down progress. Why? Because, when the average is achieved, when everything tapers off and the skill level is high, when sells are consistent and you establish yourself as the go to man, then what is the motivation for new innovation to happen? The monopoly needs to be broken, competition drives innovation.... Those of you with the creative spark and Artist mentality know that we do things for the sake of creating and challenging ourselves... It's always what about what else can I do, what else can I bring to the table, what other tools will add to the body of work that is already out there? This applies to a new Beat,Scratch, Karate move or Tool for Scratching...We compete with ourselves our peers or Mixars :-)... Most of the mixers are oem and just like those Hanpin turntables that every company has with their own twist, the situation is similar with mixers. Cars for the most part are 4 wheels and a box, how do you create something new with those limitations? How do you paint outside the lines while staying within the lines?Infinite possibilities within the boundaries? Elliot, decided to choose a side and that part is ok with me, taking a side is harder then being politically correct to not offend anyone. That I put respect on...We can like, don't like or don't give a fonk..It's all coo, nobody owns us.... I wish Mixars great success and Elliot if he drops some mixers, any of you scratch Participants too if yo are putting together Scratch Tools,Stickers, Nano Boards or Mini Focus Fadersss :-)... We do need to break the chains, break the monopoly quick though.... If I was a Mixer Company I would make my Mixer Compatible with the Rane Magnetic Fader :-) Compatible with the Vestax Fader, Compatible with the Ecler Fader :-)....It's been awhile since we have heard from Siya and The Pro X Fader.. I would take the FB post as an invitation to get into the Fader Market if I was a Mixer Company...
  19. This is excellent news Backtrack. Super respect, definitely shows your quality of character. I was having some moral issues with the whole thing, got excited by the potential of the information and my electronics nerd brain couldn't hold on to the info and had to tell someone...Sooner or later I was going to get in touch with Kevin and apologize. You just cleared my conscious :-) My own attempts failed, I was working with Morley Pedals to release a Stereo Wah Wah that would also be compatible and control the Technics Pitch Kit I was working on back in the days, you can still see they have a link on their website to my site...It was a failure and I never finished before I went into Zen mode... Knowing what I know now it, I was doing it all wrong and Kevin kicked the doors open for current and future generations of Scratch Nerds... Now about that discount :-)...
  20. Ahh, I just gave myself an idear... Maybe I should buy an Innofader Pro, make a video taking it apart, adding sensors then cut it up fresh haha...That would be some shhh.. The contrast would be interesting...
  21. 100% Support this.... I took a sabbatical and sat under a tree for a few years..came back and the Innofader fooled everyone into thinking that it was the only way? That was one of my biggest disappointments. $120? $150 what da fudge.... Notice that Innofader V2 just got released with sharper cut, why did it take so many years? It's all coo it's business but imho some of the Artistry suffered because people got snookered into using the same ish an not many where doing some coo mods...Andy was working overtime...:-) The Scratch Artist/Djs that just want to show up,cut it up and collect the money are super happy about the Innofader being in every mixer... It's reassuring to get on something familiar anywhere in the world.... To those Artists that want to make their Guitar and connect with it on an Artistic level...It's easy to take apart a fader and add parts....All those circuits the Innofader has are overkill and misdirection...All you need is the sensors...Time to break the monopoly... Full disclosure, my own ish is essentially the same as what Andy is doing but room for everyone. I got a dog in the race so I want this monopoly to stop and create a Paradigm shift.... I believe it's in everyone's best interest to support this shift because new Scratch Products can be created or modded without having to tack on that extra $100 dollars for a Innofader...No Need for that..... Make your own, buy a DIY Upgrade,Purchase a Focus Edition....Get Andy's Nanofader kit and add Contacless Fader on a portable table or choo choo train...Once that obstacle of price for con-tactless fader is removed, then everything and can be made Scratch Friendly...
  22. Ahh, finally our dream comes true...Super respect Backtrack. Here is a bit of course correction before it takes over the internet. It seems only right and fitting that Kevin @ Kab USA be mentioned or be given some credit. All those years of failed attempts to add an Ultra Pitch and not many were able to do it. I took one for the team, purchased an Ultra Pitch Kit $175 plus shipping... My freakin water was shut down for 2 weeks because I miscalculated how much I had to spend and ran into some income issues, that ish was not fun. For all you none techies Kevin gave the secret sauce which was... "you need to re position the phase lock loop filter if you want to continue to use internal feedback." There are some capacitors that are swapped on the Technics board with the KAB USA install. That is what was missing all these years. It's like being able to do the Flare for the first time...That's how important that information from Kevin was and is... Without the info Kevin shared and I passed on to Andy with pictures, we would still be scratching our heads wondering what the deal.... Pointing this out because I'm under the assumption that we work under a different ethic, code of conduct. Building on the work of others and giving credit and sharing...That's how I try to function, not always succeed but the attempt is there. It's what makes me want to contribute and be a constructive part of this new movement that's going on now....Other mofos take and take and build their wealth but not us, homies not usss haha :-) Technics Ultra Pitch with Midi...wahh...Thanks Kevin,Andy and Backtrack.... I humbly request a discount when you get this kit done :-) .... Whatever the outcome or how you feel about me or this post. Scratch Musicians need to know Kevin @ Kab USA for all eternity....Maybe buy some 45 adapters from his website to show support....I feel obliged to keep KAB USA in the mix with some mentions because I took his info and shared it. Other then that....F*ckin fantastic progress from all corners, inspiring....Looking forward to hearing the music that gets created with the Fretless and Midi Technics...Next up Marssss.
  23. Funk that...Stay on Path, Rasteri...Getting a zillion FB messages asking my thoughts on this... The internet is going nuts over a 2D Drawing/Printout and the only thing the Drawing points out is that a demand is there for a portable, demand has built over time, these posts on modding the Portable Turntables mos def helped to motivate and inspire some folks... Hopefully, whoever is putting this project together is into the Scratch Arts because normally the way things go, upportunists wait till everyone else does the work and it gets to a profit margin sweet spot...Portable Vestax Turntables selling for $300 has some peeps seeing dollar signs... Can anyone point out where the Tone Arm Rest / Lock is? :-) There are some things missing and the innofader ish has to dieee quick. That adds another 100$ to the price? Part of the Beauty of this NanoFader Cicuit was / is as we talked about, the fact that it allowed you to make your own Contactless Fader / Optical or Magnetic, using existing fader mechanisms for close to zero cost... Scratch Brothers, there is absolutley no reason why you can't take apart an existing Portable Turntable Numark/Ion/Crosley...Make a new case using a CNC Router or 3d Printer, if you are handy with tools then Hand Crafted it is, I'd like to place an order now for one with a Wooden Body with a Solid Black Piano Finish......Add Rasteri Nano Fader Circuit, Rumble Filter anddd... Rasteri, didn't you mention adding a better speed controller? PWM rpm circuit and new motor? We just need a someone with a CNC Router or A Good 3d Printer... Ps. If you are putting this turntable project together, are into the Scratch Arts and are reading this then no disrespect intended and good luck.
  24. Back from my break.... He soldered the Fader in Parallel to the Main Volume Fader on the Circuit Board and added a jack on the turntable so he could plug and unplug the external fader... This would be the same as a Raiden or Frisk, Passive with a High Quality Fader...with no Mods on the fader the clicks sound nice and crunchy, I'm surprised.. With this method you could use any High Quality Fader, even a channel Fader...The resistance 50k vs 100k won't matter much...for this application it's fine... What's bassically happen is that when the fader is off it is grounding the audio signal and turning the sound off... The Contactless faders came about to eleminate, bleeding, static and are low friction...but nowadays even a high grade fader with contacts will be more then enough for these portables...Those PCV Faders, EB Pro X Faders and P&G Faders are pretty solid for this stuff... The advantage of the Rasteri Kit is that you can add a Contactless Fader, Plus a better Cut-in/Cut-out, Make your Own Fader Box or add Faders to FX Pedals or Toy Trains... If he adds a few instructions and components so as to be able use different Contact and Non-Contact Faders...That's where the magic is...
  25. Definitely...My homie Dj Flesh One /John Nolting from the bay made a few with the Focus Fader v1.0 back in 2001. He might be willing to make you one or have some in the lab collecting dust. He released a Midi Kit that the Fader plugged into and Custom 06 Pro faceplates back in 2002 too. One of the prototype faders we did also had an oscillator/Tone Generator so you could practice your clicks with it in your headphones while walking haha :-)... He might be the fastest route for now, if he is still doing custom work...He's work is top notch and he cuts it up nice too, send him a FB message... Outside of that you'll have to wait for Rasteri or one of my own designs, my take on it is a bit different though and not for everyone...:-)
