  1. I enjoyed this a lot and really hope you finish it. It feels with the right video it could break big. IMHO It could be better C2C's Down the Road if you play it right.
  2. You seemed to know what you were doing when we were in the toilet together, chap.
  3. I shoulda woke up at 10 but was up at 8 and am far too excited to get back to sleep!
  4. Ohhh... I could have brought my phat drummer! Only just noticed the kit maybe next time?
  5. I just got a message saying my new MoW record's gonna have "Supacuts"" on it! Last time I was this happy was when Mum bought me a Castle Greyskull. Loving it.
  6. No I certainly don't and I am relishing the prospect of a nag-free day. I just needed an official statement from SSS so she knows I'm not bluffing. I think (hopefully) she's playing with me - she's not usually this concerned about where I am/what I'm doing. I think she's confusing "what's my boyfriend up to?" with "I didn't even know Rye existed". It can have a profound effect on a preson when new things are discovered.
  7. I hadn't planned on bringing the missus but she's giving me the old "but why can't I come?" What's the etiquette? I've told her it's gonna be a load of turntablists geeking out!
  8. It is, man - it's just a cool way of doing your art on the fly - it will never replace a fully-fledged DAW but it's a nice little solution for increasing your productivity.
  9. Formula: Have I heard a phat loop that people would find entertaining if I just looped it? Yes: sample it. No: Have I heard a sample that I could re-sample and pass off as my own? Yes: sample it. No: Can I create the sound knocking about in my head by playing an instrument? Yes: play said instrument. No: can I create the sound in my head using synths? Yes: use synths. No: has anybody recorded anything that sounds like the sound I have in my head but it just needs re-pitching? Yes: sample it. No: write it using synths that cost lots of money. Has this formula helped me? Yes: I am doing my best and will crack on. No: go to the pub.
  10. 1. Download Intua's Beatmaker 2 and Looptastic Producer 3. 2. Start a New Project in Beatmaker. Select Drum Machine, then Empty Preset. 3. Tap on Sample Lab and either Record Sample using your iRig, Open Sample that already exists or iPod Import a sample. We'll assume you're gonna import from your iPod. 4. Once the sample is open, edit it so it loops. The controls are quite simple so I won't go into that part. Save your work once happy. 5. Exit this and then tap on the Sharing icon. Select Pasteboard then Copy BM2 to iOS. Now select your loop. 6. Exit BM2 and open Looptastic. 7. Now tap More, then Audio Paste, then either an existing Loop Set or Create New Set. It's worth noting at this juncture that Loop Sets are governed by the tempo of the first loop in a set. 8. Set the set name and then the loop name, icon (optional) and type - leave this on Auto so it loops ad infinitum. And there you go. Keep building sets (10 loops per set), which can then be used with other sets until your fingers hurt. You can mix them in, effect them, etc. If you change from one set to another, it'll play whatever is playing but discard the other loops in the bottom, replacing them with the new loop set. The tempo will not change until you manually change it. The time-stretching is acceptable but don't push it too far! You can also write your own loops in BM2 and import these into your Looptastic sets as well as get into chopping every beat and rewriting well known breaks/samples. Hope this helps.
  11. The concept of this game seems heavily based on my love life, including my ex girlfriends pushing my buttons, disappearing when I touch them and being interchangeable quite quickly. On a serious note, I hope they release this on iOS as I like the idea of it and can see myself wasting hours on my iPad playing it!
  12. Very cool. Yeah so the principle would be the same but more TT friendly.
  13. Stevie E, you realise you're gonna have to see my posts in 3 different places now?! Must bore the ish out of you!
  14. Session 1: http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=relmfu&v=NEFJcveOu-Y Session 2: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iLKI-eE0L48 I think Session 3 is overdue. Please do anybody have any loops they wouldn't mind us using? Please PM me Let's do this!
  15. Not in the same way - it is very quick but using this method, you could spit a line, scratch the last word, then spit another, scratch that etc in real time. There'd be no processing time because it's live 'n' direct, innit? Blud.
  16. What do you mean? A Scratchlophone?! Oh pleeeeeeease let me have a go! Oh my days I'm proper excited like a kid!
  17. I only know of 3 Feet Deep and Seperated at Birth - none of which feature any other MCs nor are they that long. Would like to know what it is cos I do rate them two as MCs.
  18. Yeah that's worth a "like". Done.
  19. Barbecued Pork Bellies... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  20. If there are no chips, I'm out. Or we'll have to buy some. If chips aren't an option then neither am I.
  21. Fiver? Deal! Count me in. I haven't got any special needs apart from the usual mental stuff. Space for my QFO? I don't need any ramps or anything if that's what you meant... but we have a whole week - that's plenty of time for me to get into mischief...
  22. I have absolutely no motivation, but lots of ideas. Occasionally, I execute them - like my videos or creating a Muppet (https://www.facebook.com/ron.footswanger?ref=ts&fref=ts) I love the inventiveness of tape-scratching but feel there is a massive trick being missed so am gonna put it out there in the hope someone else is gonna make it happen. FYI I got as far as acquiring a tape deck! Idea: modify a tape head to run laterally on a strip of tape. Then use a push-and-hold-to-close switch to engage the recording function. One could then record vocals whilst pressing the button, let go, then cut the recording immediately. As in: record, transform back and crack on. This could be done until the tape wears. Thoughts: - you can blur the lines between MCing and cutting - record samples not just live like Beardyman and JFB do, but in real time. - unlike DVS (that's what they use) or a CDR-07 with a Tascam TTM-1 (which I have tried), there will be no latency. Issues: - you could have an SM58 mounted to the deck table but we all know whilst a Madonna Mic looks rubbish, it is the best way cos you'll have both hands free - if you use a pedal to trigger the recording, we're in business! - There will be feedback/ambient noise issues to deal with. An a Capella skit would be cool, but to make it work properly, it's gonna have to be better. - how many recordings does a tape actually do? Would it be enough to do a verse and then you'd have to wind some new tape in. This could be a crap idea and I'm barking up the wrong tree but hopefully it will inspire perhaps another solution by people with the same mindset! I would love to hear your thoughts/criticisms.
