  1. Thanks guys, it's nice to hear, I'll do another video in a years time :-), I know what you mean about the plateau, if you keep at it I find you push through the bad sessions lol
  2. :-) Thanks everyone, I know it's not perfect but hearing you guys comments gives a bit of confidence to push on, its hard sometimes especially when you feel like you ent getting anywhere
  3. Lol thanks doppelkorn, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bit weird tho :-)
  4. Thanks for that chile, gives me motivation to keep on practicing. lol I expected something like that from you for some reason eric lol, it is a nice crack but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse so I think the house is ok, I knew those builders were dodgy.
  5. Thanks for you advice guys, I really appreciate it especially when I don't really have anyone to share scratch talk with, I think I'll just keep practicing :-), its pich but I say it like you pronounce the word pitch but without the t.
  6. ive been wanting to post a video for awhile just to get some advice on where im going wrong and what I can improve on, I was showing my girlfriend for the first time in ages to see if she thought id improved and she recorded it so I thought id use it to post on here, any feedback would be great, good and bad. I know its not very clean and I mess up a lot but I thought id still put it up, ive been practicing just over a year and not as often as id like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21tcrk_57Lk
  7. Have you used your midi fighter in a mpc style way? I want to try it but not sure if it'll work
  8. I mean like music production to produce a loop, make one from scratch is what I want to try, ive seen things like ableton and reaper but just wanted some advice? Or should I just buy the maschine mikro.
  9. I'm looking into trying to make a loop to scratch to and wanted to know what's the best software to use, is there one with a pad bank so I can use the midi fighter with it?
  10. Nice thanks for your advice everyone, there's a lot here I can work with :-) NICE!!!
  11. I just wanted to see how other people practice when they get on there decks? Like do you do 10mins of chips, 10mins of flares etc, then a freestyle, this is pretty much how mine go unless I get a lot of free time them I'll do that but for longer
  12. I know I'm really interested to see what its like, with it not even being on discogs it makes me even more intrigued, I might email thud rumble see if they could tell me anymore
  13. Thanks again guys for your input, ive been working on my tears a lot atm and have really progressed which gives me a boost, ive been playing with scratches I could do with them and it's given me a lot more to think about and some where sounding ok lol, yo erik I will do a vid soon but I want to be on it a lot more Coz im still rusty from not practacing as much recently. Thanks again everyone :-)
  14. Nice, thanks a lot for your advice everyone I really appreciate it and it's given me some things to work on, I'll get on this today and get some hours in. Thanks
  15. Thanks for the replies peeps, yo erik that sounds really good mate thanks a lot but I'm pretty crap and dout I could pull off the more advanced fast moves, i think I just need a answer to the thing that will help me move to the next stage but I know it won't come easy, ive got some techniques down I just gotta figure out what to do with them, ill maybe put a vid up once I've got back to practising for awhile. Thanks again !!gone fishing!!
  16. I've been practising a lot over the past year maybe not as hardcore tho over the summer but I'm looking forward to getting into it hard again once this suns gone, ive learnt and been practicing a few scratches which I feel quite comfortable with but I always just seem to do the same thing whilst freestyling or it feels like a row of the same scratches, I know I need to practise and there isn't a easy answer but I'm just looking for some direction, I watch your guys posts on here like erik and others and you guys just seem to flow really nice into different scratches, is it that your doing the scratches I can do but double time or just linking and flowing the scratches I can do really well or are they just scratches I can do lol, I can do some combos but that's it I just do a combo then another combo and it dosent have much flow, it would be good if there was a mini freestyle vid then they broke down what they were actually doing I'm not on about tutorial vids just one showing the different scratches they were doing.
  17. I saw this record posted on Facebook it had "beware of the frozen toad scratch" on it and darth fader and scarecrow willy, I just wanted to know more about the record because I can't find any info on it even on discogs, is it a battle record and what's the label? Any help would be great
  18. thats a nice collection there :-) even tho there not the best scratch tools I still think they look funky, thanks for your input people think once payday comes I'll be getting some rectangle pieces of wax
  19. Cheers thanks for that ill have a look for them, nothing important just coz I fancy having some in my collection I know it won't improve anything like you said it makes it even worse to cue up with especially the super seal 4 d one, I love collecting vinyl and coloured ones is something I haven't got many of atm
  20. Ooops yeh sorry coloured battle records
  21. Hi im in search for some coloured vinyl atm and just wanted to know if anyone knew of any as I'm struggling to find any new ones? I know of super seal 4 d, battle breaks, other super seal ones and a white dj rectangle one but thats it. cheers in advance for any help
  22. Great videos man! it's given me a lot of ideas :-) thanks for sharing
  23. I don't think I'm in it hardcore enough yet to try these techniques, thanks tho it's always good to hear other peoples methods :-)
  24. Thanks for the advise everyone, after some practicing lastnight I decided im sticking with the way I cut now, I thought that I can build my left hand up over time I'm too happy with my fader movements to ditch then now, I'm trying something over the next month to see if it'll help my weak hand out.. I'm going to try and do as best I can to make me dominant hand my left hand lol not sure how easy it'll be as I'm already finding it hard, think I should just tie up my right arm behind my back or something.
  25. I was talking to ericuk on youtube lastnight and me mentioned about he uses his strong hand as his record hand, I know this has probley been discussed but I wanted peoples opinions on what they think is best and what hand they use? I'm right handed and for some reason I found having my right hand on the fader more natural but since I've been trying tears I've been struggling with them a lot and I know I'd probley find it a lot easyer doing them if my right hand was on the record so I keep thinking shall I swap over? lol I'm not too keen on the idea really coz I feel I've been making decent progress with my fader movements and getting the speed up which I know I'd struggle with using my left hand. I've only really got into scratchin seriously since june but have been mixing for years having been into my acid techno from a young age lol and have got far too comfortable scratchin the way I do now. also the big question... hamster or regular? should one change if they've been regular for so long? sorry if this is old news but I keep wondering about it
