fair enough. I've been mixing for ~ 8 years now, and have only been scratching for ~ 1. The other side to this is I threw the mix together hours before leaving for Miami. So, it wasn't over produced and is still a tad sloppy.

Nice mixer! I nearly bought one, but I walked out with the rane.

There are 2 mods. 1. Scrape mod - remove the inside carbon strips for a cleaner, faster cut. Fader stays buttery. 2.Tape mod - same principle, but use packing tape to cover them.Fader is mostly buttery, but has a bump. Check Asis for more details.

No springs here + cailube . I also pushed the magnets for close to no cut-in. Also, after getting used to the odd shaped caps, I've come to prefer them. I've tried cutting on other mixers after modding my 56, and haven't found anything that comes close.

No one DJ made me want to scratch. I just found that I needed to up my game, something to give me a reason to practice all the time again. However, just when I was about to give up.... I met annalyze. She broke it down to the fundamentals for me. After that, the rest is history. Now I scratch in all of my sets and constantly practice. Thanks Anna!
