    Phrasing

That makes sense, Vekked, I first heard the term from a Belgian dude, and I've only seen europeans refering to it as "phrasing". As you might have understood, I meant cutting phrases, and applying drumming patterns to it is a dope tip, thanks Kwote!
  2. Any tutorials, breakdowns, patterns you want to share?
  3. Yup, I do know him, Portugal is a small country, eheh. Actually, his routine was a good surprise. Not really my favourite track selection, but it was well-rounded and the top 12 is a historical result for Portugal. I only think he lacks some scratch skills.
  4. You missed the accent, it's "Olá", but don't worry, I doubt that your keyboard even has one of those, eheh. As I said, Portugal doesn't have much of a history in the turntablism scene, except for the Beatbombers ( ) who have been achieving some good results lately. Let's hope I can change that!
  5. Ahah, thanks for your input, and I know that, but self-deprecation seems to be seen as trendy these days. Anyway, I'll change it as soon as I find a better alternative. And thank you too, Steve. There aren't many turntablists over here in Portugal, so that doesn't surprise me, but I'll try to spread this forum within the ones I know. Oh, and sorry for any misspelling or bad grammar, I think it's understandable as English is not my first language.
  6. It's just kind of a pun with the word profile. I'm still open to any better suggestions y'all might have, though.
  7. Hey! I'm Nuno, as a dj I go by the name of Profail; 16-year-old guy from Portugal. I've been scratching for almost three years, entered my first battle this year, I'm also a digger and I've just started making my own music.
  8. YES! Ahah, I think I got it now. Gotta go practice. Thank you all! But I'll be waiting for that tutorial vid anyway.
  9. Technically I think I'll be able to do this as soon as I fully understand it. I'm happy with my chasing, but I didn't get what you meant by "trick mix between every chase". Anyway, thanks for your help, and a tutorial would be very welcome!
  10. There's this pattern I've been trying to breakdown, can anyone throw some light on this? Coma does it here at 1:19: Spicktacular, various times throughout the whole video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXbLCyt3iOw&feature=related Thanks in advance
