I think that's the whole point of monitors, man. They're not supposed to sound good, they're just there to reproduce what your music really sounds like. Basically, if you can make it sound good in your monitors, it will sound good anywhere else.

the dmc world finals are judged in a similar way. some of the djs who are doing solos are invited to judge supremacy and teams and vice versa. although they also invite guest judges too Yup, and that's equally ridiculous, I know guys who can't pull off a two-click flare and have judged world finals as guest judges, but in that case the effect is a bit watered down. Here you had 2/3 guys judging all their mate's battles, and although no major injustice came out of that, it was a hugle blow to the competition credibility.

This year, IDA Portugal was judged by competing dj's who were responsible for judging the categories in which they were not battling. And to think I once made fun of DMC Kenya...
