  1. 20th March...hmmm, I might be able to set up my turntables by then.
  2. I've been having a play with it, it's nice to see something on the Android with low latency but it does take a bit of getting used to (my timing is shit anyway lol)
  3. Got a 07pro which is pretty battered with a prox in it and rane ttm56 which is nice but I snapped the bit on the power supply which keeps it in place so it keeps coming out. I would like: A rane ttm57 for serato integratedness Native Instruments S4 which half qualifies as a mixer Pioneers CDJs & mixer But I'm a greedy cunt and luckily I don't have enough money or space to buy more shit I don't need.
  4. I went to listen but didn't have anything to play or decode flacs on that computer so gave up. sorry.
  5. I had one of them too then after that I had a numark dm2000x (purple, 3 channels and transform buttons which worked in a retarded way) then finally I got my 07pro and ttm56 I've heard about this mixer in legends This mixer was awesome, bomb sound fx, machine gun sound effects...what more could you want!
  6. Just seen this it looks interesting, very simple idea and I won't pay a lot for it but it's actually pretty cheap and looks like a bit of fun. http://pulsecontroller.com/
  7. Scheduled defrag or indexing service maybe?
  8. Are you talking mid channel or audio channel? If you're talking midi channel you need to change the channel that the mpc is transmitting on. If you're talking audio then do you have a multi output audio interface? If not the you only have 2 channels available.
  9. Oi, you can't go around saying things like that without providing a link. Cover look cool though mate, top effort!
  10. Mate get another set of cheap ones, just for like £15 or whatever or some of those disposable foam ones and never take them out your dj bag, that way if you forget you good ones you have some sort of back up ;-)
  11. I actually think he could probably do a pretty good job with a record he's never heard before as he's monitoring with the headphones all the time. On the scratchcon dvd both him & melo d talk about it and j rocc is constantly switching between channels on the headphones where as melo say he listens to both channel at the same time, either way I find it fucking hard trying listen in the headphones while doing any sort of juggling (even if its simple) cos I get confused with the extra sound source.
  12. Here's a little program which timestretches in that style http://akaizer.blogspot.com/ Although you can get similar results inside ableton if you choose the right algorithm and adjust the grain size.
  13. First impression is the hardward looks good and the software looks ok, however going by Akai's operating system for the MPC2500 I think akai probably aren't the best software developers where as that's what the NI guys do best. I think Maschine will continue to grow and evolve alot more than this and I'm guessing NI are still way ahead of the game (can't this MPC one load vsts?). I think it'll probably do well and be a good bit of kit (once the bugs are somewhat ironed out) but somehow I suspect Akai won't keep up with NI when it comes to the software.
  14. Merry late christmas you bunch of cunts. I've just uploaded a preview of some of the tunes I've been working on http://soundcloud.com/dublemon/slp-preview Plus here's a little xmas give away I made with a friend. Enjoy
  15. Sounds to me like he came up with a phrase then couldn't thing of 4 more to rhyme with it so just repeat then pause waiting for the next bar, kinda sounds like the fu-schnickens with a gate effect stuck on the vocals.
  16. Does it come pre installed on a free ipod?
  17. I see what you mean. The Catskill one is an example where you hear it and think "well the Catskill doesn't mean anything so he's going to have to say Mountains." I used to like it when Chuck D would set up a quite obvious rhyme and then in the next line just not rhyme it at all. There's a ton of examples but none spring to mind. Have you got a good example of that house vocal thing? Do you mean an example of it done well? If so I'm not sure off the top of my head but I'm sure I can find something. With regards to your other point here is an example of it done extremely well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BF7wLp6OK5M
  18. The house one doesn't bother me if the tune is good, if it sounds boring and monotonous then it's just a shit tune and I wouldn't blame it on the sample. The hip hop one I have heard done in a way which I like a few times but more often than not I completely agree with you. There are times which I find to obviously be lazy and it just sounds like they do it to make it fit but there are other times where it's clever because it seems to mean one thing then resolve to something else which I think is cool.
  19. D&B is actually pretty diverse, here's wikipedia's list of sub-genres but it's hardly a complete list It's definitely limited by tempo but it is in now way limit by instruments which can be used and saying that is all sounds the same is ridiculous. Is it more diverse than hip-hop? Fuck knows, I think that's pretty impossible to decide. For some comparisons compare: Stuff by Paradox Stuff by Current Value Stuff by Ed Rush & Optical Stuff by Billain Stuff by London Electricity Stuff by LTJ Bukem Stuff by Alix Perez Stuff by Noisia Listen to 1 tune from each of those artist then come back and say it all sounds the same. Saying that I wouldn't want to only listen to it for the rest of my life, also this is about Jimmy and the simple fact of the matter is he's wrong even if he's right.
