  4. yeah it was taken off dstyles board and brought here.. whats the problem? max said it was taken from dstyles board.. did we miss something here? these are not chirpflares.. may sound like a variation but still are not the same.. and i never mentioned to anyone that i made the file..
  5. question: how are you gonna know if a dj is relying on the sole purpose of bpming his records? of course the most obvious would be his incredible shitty mixing skills, but to that effect even if you labeled your shit and sounded bad, then you need help no matter what! i guess this could stem out even further to: do you have less respect for a dj that uses serato? or may the cd turntable and can rip shit up just as good as a vinyl dj? respect for me to another comes from the person themselves.. you could be a GREAT dj and still be a big asshole. then there are those that may not be the best, but their attitudes are wonderful and allow others to be friends.. im ranting so................
  6. nothing wrong with bpming your stuff. i put my records in plastic poly sleeves to protect the covers and put a white mailing label with the name of the record & bpms near the top right corner, simply because i have a TON of vinyl and dont feel like pulling each one up to see the labels name etc. its all in how you mix though.. if you label your records, still gotta know how to mix.. heh... but the main thing here is to do whats comfortable for you, fug what everyone else thinks. if you need a good BPM counter that inserts the bpms into the actual files bpm tag, check out: http://www.mixmeister.com/download_freestuff.html it did one of my mp3 folders (about 23 gig) in just a few minutes.. i think like less than 5 mins.
  7. sorry socal, they will be up on the site in a few days.. also, the version 3's are dropping soon.. just went to production last week........ they are in my opinion the best i have ever designed to date. more information to follow...................
  8. you can get a new rane ttm 56 for $599 at www.northernsound.net, but its gotta be a phone order and you have to ask for is specifically. you get a free t-shirt too!!
  9. the beatmapper changed the bpms on the second beat i brought in to match the first one which is great, but how do you get the tracks over to the right side so you can line them up and match the two tracks? i have tried dragging and everything else!
  10. i have acid 5.0 installed.. can you give me some instructions on how to beat match files in acid? keep in mind that i have never used it and need things spelled out!! actually i read up on the beat matching wizard and it opened when i pulled a beat in.. it went through its deal and also gave me the bpms to the beat afterwards.. damn...... i like that.. im gonna mess with this for a bit and see what i can come up with. thanks,.. G
  11. yeah i know the whole concept of counting beats and being able to beat match etc and have a really good program that kicks ass at showing me the correct bpms for my music, which is hardly used, but my thing is, i have a bunch of files on my puter that i want to mix and then rework on my mixtapes. but having to match them kinda by ear would take a bit of time and i wanted something that would assist me in that process so i can concentrate more on reworking my other stuff. ha, i guess what im saying is that i wanted something to help me out with the grunt work... back in the day there were no computers or bpm software, you either counted beats and matched or you sounded like shit.. it was one or the other.. well for me it was like that.. i learned the hard way...
  12. thanks guys... which is why i want fuggin serato skratch ... i just have some stuff on my puter i want to mix and cant find it on vinyl for whatever reason and it sucks to be limited by my vinyl, which isnt small by any means but you get what im sayin.... anyway thanks for the responses....
  13. ok, i checked that out and somethings are confusing.. like for instance, it shows the bpms on the loop properties box, but when i do a bpms outside of audition its a lot different than what audition says it is. this is the box that i see when i pull it up: now the third selection at the top, if selected will allow you to change the bpms.. "repeat blah at blah bpms..." if i change the bpms there it goes through and time compresses the file which im assuming is changing the bpms?? sorry for being so stupid here, but i am trying to learn audition a lot more now and finding that i didnt really know jack shit before!
  14. yeah the help file isnt much "help" when it comes to that. ha thanks anyway.
  15. adobe audition 1.5 says it has a automatic beat matching feature. NOW BEFORE everyone starts thinking that I am going to use that in all of my files, im NOT. I read this: "Automatic beat detection - Find and mark beats automatically. This makes new loop file creation a snap and greatly assists DJs and others who need to quickly match beats between multiple files." i just need it for some because i have so many instrumentals that i want to match up to accapellas and honestly dont want to spend all that time matching them by ear. they are already close and not off by much, but i just wanted to ensure it was dead on with a few im having trouble with. G
  16. have a few questions, hit me up in pm.. runnin 1.5 version..
  17. thanks, i love spinbads intros as well as green lanterns, dj juice(trenton new jersey), dj bee(va beach va, hes on the local radio here in my town). juice is the one that sticks in my mind the most as having the most innovative intros to mixtapes, i remember as far back as maybe 91ish? or earlier that he was doing intros that were so well pieced together that they sounded like they could have been done today! who else do you guys know that do ellaborate intros?
  18. Is about to drop soon. Everything from todays & yesterdays hip-hop, to original beats by Gutter and DokTa-E. 19. any transcription that attempts to explain a skĀ©(q)ratch for the DJ, shouldnt be meant to hold a full song. the idea behind it *should* be one of showing how an individual skratch is done, not a full blown album or songs. if i wanted to know how to do a flare and someone just said: do this blah blah, but then i looked at how it is done, whether by transcription or an image of a turntable platter with how the record movement goes, it certainly helps a great deal. different learning curves and ways for different people, the key is how the material is presented to the learner. i would rather see it in person from someone else, but we dont all have that capability of cutting with other djs all the time. who gives a crap if we have another how to DJ dvd? i certainly didnt care for a few that are out now simply because the information given was mostly inaccurate. maybe reezy will take the time to do it right and have a hit on his hands, who knows. only way to find out is if you do it. brilliant ideas & concepts come from many failures.
