  2. das efx - the real hip hop (pete rock remix)
  3. instead of an sm58 check out the behringer xm8500 http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:i1IWTvj...uk&ct=clnk&cd=1 - review by a guy whose judgement i definitely trust can probably be picked up in america for about $20, and when i've heard them live they've sounded great no hating on behringer please they also do some decent looking condenser mics, can't vouch for them though
  4. im not sure if these work with every graphics card - i remember reading your card needs tv out capabilities for the vga>s-vid connectors to work - let me know how it goes cos im after the same thing!
  5. i have the 280's and theyre fantastic, got em from amazon (us) for about £70 i think, really good sound isolation and the quality is superb, plus theyre incredibly comfy
  6. anyone know where to get groundwires in the uk? im just using some random bits of wire with bare ends at the moment, wouldnt mind getting some proper ones (with the connectors)
  7. hey does anyone have a link to this? i've got my table open at the moment because the left output is a bit dodgy and i thought i'd try this while i was at it, the mod squad on asisphonics is down and can't seem to find a cache of it anywhere cheers
  8. i think this is the cheapest uk place to buy the maya 44 usb... http://www.makingwavesaudio.com/productsea...MAYA%2044%20USB they're local to me, quality guys
  9. and some of the skins available (free) from the forums offer a gui much nicer than the competitors (check out the spm and pvdh skins)
  10. hey, i've been using djdecks.be for almost a year now, it's unltra stable and works like a treat. i've been using it with 2 phono preamps and a maya44usb (about £80 from www.makingwavesaudio.com) easily matches up to the short time i've had on serato and fs, fraction of the price too
  11. http://www.thedustyfoot.com/ k'naan - somalian rapper who lives in canada
  12. get this: http://makingwavesaudio.com/productsearch....MAYA%2044%20USB full asio support, i've been using it for djDecks (www.djdecks.be) flawlessly for a while now, thats the best price for it in the uk too. Nice straightforward card with decent config tool.
  13. i use a dell latitude d410 subnotebook (12" screen) and it's the nuts, cost £525 off ebay refurb (about £1100 from the dell site) and i have it dualbooted for internet and music. just need to stick another gig of ram in (currently has 512mb) and i'll be sorted! Had it since september and it's run flawlessly, done a few gigs with djdecks software with no crashes. pretty well fits your description i think - 802.11g, pcmcia, no firewire but i get about 3 1/2 hours battery life from one charge and its ultra-lightweight. check it out link: http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products...sdt1&l=en&s=bsd
  14. dude, i LOVE your beats! what are you doing with them? i'd say they're easily up to the standard of many well known (decent) producers. have you got any stuff with rhyming over?
  15. here's my take on your stuff It's very sharp and apparently produced to a very high quality, but i just don't really see anything particularly new or creative. theres probably a market for this sort of stuff, but gear outlines or hip-hop quotes in a nice font across the chest don't really do much for me. I dunno, im not the sort who wears "look, i'm a dj" stuff, and i might just be being cynical that said i think it's cool that you've done this, but i wouldn't buy this sort of thing unless it either had some sort of a message to it or a bit more creativity in the designs to set the brand apart from any other not hating, just offering my two pence (im usually too cheap to buy new clothes anyway so my opinions aren't that important ) one last thing, it would be nice to see at least one real t-shirt somewhere on the site to get an idea of print quality etc do with this what you will edit: the customisation is a real nice touch, hadnt really taken that in on the first look
  16. the behringer b2031's are pretty decent, less than £200 and very clear reference monitors unless you mean smaller than that, the ms20's are pretty decent for the size best price i have found for behringer gear is www.bluearan.co.uk
  17. love the spazz arm coming out of his belly in the last pic too!
  18. just buy a laptop [/controversy] looks nice though
  19. melody, it's str8up l33t h33t there as for ultra-mainstream stuff, that pussycat dolls song "don't cha" is awesomely catchy, if a bit cheesy
  20. welllll... i went on ebay and ended uo getting a dell d410 for £525 - got it today and it's just the ticket! it's ultra-compact with just a 12" screen, built in wireless and bluetooth, pentium-m 1.86ghz processor, 512ram (which i will upgrade to a full gig asap) and a 40 gig hdd, but i plan to get an external one to keep all videos and music on rock on!!!
  21. nah, he wrote $1200 canadian, which is about $1000 u.s.
