  1. True that dswift, but hating on someone who does like tiesto or god i dunno PVD should count as a double standard. I guess mutual respect for ppl that do different things is the issue at hand. Im the worse as far as not giving credit to artists i view as selling out because theyve gone commercial minded, like i said if you can make money doing what you like thats great, because you dont have to subsidize your passion doing something you may not care for. its only when artists abandon or alter their work to to enhance financial gain that they cease to be true artists and become musically talented businessmen.......the talent tho is debatable, specially for all these pop icons, i dont understand it, i mean they dont look good in real life, many claim to have had simple beginings (so the they prolly knew someone in the industry) is not feasible, and in my experience many of them do not sound that great live.....my gf begged me to go to the avril lagve or whatever some pop star gurl from the uk or something anyways she sang and we left like 20 mins into it, my gf was upset she had thought this gurl was as good as she appeared to be on the cd....personally i dont think even the radio versions are good....but is anything on the radio these days? I went to see offspring, because i really liked their music almost a decade ago, anyways they obviously have sold out, their music is horrible, they died along with the whole punk genre, punk is dead and pop had just engulfed it and other genres, same with alot of trance and house music, which is a real shame for someone like me. MTV and this whole culture of idolizing media creations instead of enjoying artists honest contributions is to blame for all this.
  2. Is shakira really gross in the real? i thought she was like an angel in the vdo's but saw her on some off cam shots and the gurl is a fucking dogg. secondly yeah i hear you, the perfectionism ego thing can get the best of you however, if you let it stop you from continuing with things, fearing mediocrity has led me to dropping a few things instead of trying to improve on them. I look back and feel depressed at times especially in sports as well as some music i let go thinking about how much better id be if i had stayed with it. Im fresh @ 21 yrs old so im glad im seeing my shortcommings now and not suffering a midlife crisis or some shit. anyways hope all that hard work and learning of the instruments pays off, and i dont mean financially but personally and emotionally, artists that advertise and play soley for money not expression need to check themselves. laterz
  3. coco i pm'd you anyways looks like this guy doesnt need to be selling cd's he could be banging the missus when your away... http://www.escort.sexcia.com/escorts/post_12343.html always thought you were dutch coco, not jamaican lates
  4. Ive mixed with 447's and the sound is actually really nice, Ive recently bought whitelabels which i love, but b4 that i almost always used the 44g's and didnt find them having much a problem with skipping at all, gotta add more counterweight that 447's to get similar tracking but main reason i liked the 44gs was because they have low burn, which is something to think about if you have a lot of hard to find vinyll and your doing trick mixing. most is in the counterweight setting, you burn your vinyll a lot quicker using shitty carts because you have to load up the weight to get tracking, thats what happened when my we used some old numark carts one time, started getting noticible feedback shortly after because of the necessary counterweight settings for those shit carts....and this wasnt even scratching, just to keep the cart from possibly skipping due to bass it had to be counterweighted.
  5. Im totally ignorant when it comes to new dj gear, Ive been out of the whole gear thing since i stopped modding on stanton when they flushed the forum, i just found out i was wise not to cop a pair of cdj100's for nostalgic reasons after i just had a quick browse online and saw some nice looking cdj200's with the zipjetwah ish and fine fine pitch incriments comparable to my dn5000 and for a fair price. Id hate to be in a similar condition shelling out for a 56 even though its worth every cent and have some 58 drop, Just currious if anyones heard whether rane will be revising the 56 ....
  6. I'll post a pic of my stuff when im back home. 2 m3d's 1 pt2410 1 dns5000 1 smx501 1 amer audio pro 600 or 500 dual rack. pio cans next investment be in a korg es1 or boss sp 505 prolly.
  7. Sigma & Rygon hit me up with gr8 sites, trustyfiles is ok winmx is good bearshare is good sharereza or whatever is absolute crap Kazaalite used to be amazing, last time i used it a few months ago almost all the files were at irregular bitrates or didnt have the complete or any song, plus a lot of viruses on kazaa which is a shame because they had a great selection of porn, all those milfhunter, asianstreetmeat sites would post their updates on the paysites and within days they'd be up on the kazaa. Musically though theres a lot of great songs at 256 and 320 that you cant find vinyll, bootlegs tend to be shit however.
  8. hahahah kian im sorry but thats wack, Tiesto and the like are mixdj's why should they compete on a scratch dj's own field. and since when did someone buy a tiesto or sanchez cd and expect skratch perverts or anything remotely resembling turntablism. Im not a tiesto fan perse but even I can see that your last statement was beyond anything even djzenboi would say....im still laughing about it now when i scan down below my reply window. and....not to cause drama but Funny I not seen any Coco cd's on shelves or tours, coco is just the name of shitty danish cereal... dont hate before you have a cd in the buy 1 get 5 free bargain bin prick.
  9. I used to play guitar both rhythm and bass. can play drums poorly and want to be better at playing piano....as id like to shell out for a synth sometime in the not so distant future.
  10. Yeah i dont see why caig lube would help with the 56, caig helped when my p&G on the smx501 got stiff. I had the 56 for a while and ended up sending it back because the left hand channel fader felt as tho there was like grains or some contact, i took it apart and there wasnt any dust accumulation or anything, wasnt worth me ruining trying to fuck with the polarity or tamper with it as it was under 3 month warrantee so i sent it back. best feeling mixer ever, despite being a devout mix dj, i noticed a lot of the scratch techniques that i could only achieve irregularly if at all, were comming off a lot better with that mixer, i got it for its quality as a mixing tool, set the faders to slow coupled with clear 3 band eq and you got a winner even with only 2 channels its considerably better than the complex interface of the empath imo.
  11. I dont have my wax with me as im in uni, so wouldnt be able to cite it till later, but i do have a lot of oldies i buy from pawn and at yard sales from time to time but mainly for audiophile use, many purchases i end up questioning even for the .50 or whatever they costed. tho ive dabbled in some house mixes and sampled a hook or bar from some 40's black soul and i have some 78's from earlier periods.
  12. I dont think a slip mat has to be replaced because it was too well worn, less your vinnyl is really dirty. I bought some buddha sic and caddy sic mats because they look nice but ended up just using my olding my felt tech mats that you have to squint to read the brand on. i wouldnt worry about it. besides I use plastic sleeves under my mats, because i use technics, and they just dont have the power of the new age turntables....at least thats what vestax and stanton would have me believe. damn.... too bad this google hit for my post on the quality of tech slipmats is dead like the OG forum, miss those days Stanton Message Board - Technic Speed Mats? ... 25/2003 : 17:42:40 Show Profile Click to see huwbeanie's MSN Messenger ... Nelson Stanton Moderator. ... prolly buy some, go to their website and hit the section on mats ... www.stantondj.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2130 - 101k - ผลการค้นหาเสริม
  13. Hahaha I love these, i been gone for like over a year and the same posts come up. thats great. anyways the answer is technics
  14. I like the forums preview topic thing and the quick reply feature, props to whoever is responsible for that. Im too lazy to read the above, reverse counterweight really fucks up the records. put a single on with the song side facing down (bside up) and then its easy to set your antiskate, youve got the right setting when the cart stops gliding accross the record. I never really pay attention to manufacturers settings, often i use less than what they say when im mixing because i have an irrational fear of lp burn, but tend to use more when trick mixing because skipping 5 mins in or fruther renders whatever your doing crap and have to start over. I havent been able to skip technics with 447's on at any angle with sufficent weight and 44g's at an angle with sufficent weight, so i personally cant see why someone would feel limited on techs as far as tonearm performace was concerned. Im not really a scratch dj, so just ignore what im saying.
