  1. I have an old Vestax PDX 2000 turntable I've been cutting on for years. I've been trying to learn to mix here recently, just to find myself at a stand still because the platter is warped on it. I've searched all over and can't find anywhere that sells replacement platters for this old of a model.

Does anyone know of a website I can try or maybe heard of a way to upgrade the platter to the newer type?

    Thanks!

  2. Wuts up Steve? Can you take a look at this for me? Much appreciated

  3. The Tool record with the layers printed on transparent acetate is sick, too

    Lateralus?

word. Laterus' cover/booklet is very well made.

That artwork was done by Alex Grey, my all time favorite artist. You should check out some of his work, most of his paintings are done on six foot canvases and have so much detail in it that it takes 2-3 years or longer to finish one painting.

  4. Anybody know where I can get a looper that lets me put in beats as a wav or mp3 and loops them for me? Like a blank flash looper that just lets me put in files from my computer or something...

  5. once you customize the fader all up, it's beautiful, second to rane/ecler type steeze, I might even say better than pioneer... the only problem (for me), is that if you are kinda hard on your fader, it's not the most durable, I broke 2 in two months, I think primarily due to juggling and hitting the fader against the edge repeatedly... but my fav mixer for the price for sure, you'd have to go double to get something better... plus the 3 band eq with kills is nice...

    customize the fader all up??

Like i said im still a beginner, so I'm not familiar with what all can be customized, what is best to customize, etc. Fill me in??

As for the Pro-X faders, whats the prices run, why are they better, and is it hard to switch them out?

  6. Here you go: -

From what I remember, not everyone liked the SA-5, but have a read and see what you think.

Thanks man, I didnt realize there were other threads about it already. Much appreciated

And thanks for the input about the vestax mixers Ryan, i've only had my decks for three months so im not very experienced with which mixers have good sound quality and which dont... I just saw that in almost every video i've watch online people are using vestax mixers or the all mighty rane mixer...mmmmmmmm.... so I just assumed Vestax was a good way to go

  7. yes you can, you do it with you're hand twisted round in a funny way and you use you've thumb & index finger for the crossfader and you little & ring finger for the up fader...if you can't work it out I'll up a video when I get home.

hey could you upload that video for me so i can check it out, thanks blud

Yea for me too, cuz i havent heard of a euro scratch yet and i wanna see what its all about.

  8. for people who scratch regular what techniques do you think are easier as opposed if you were performing them hamster??

Nice, that was my next question, you beat me to it. The only thing I've noticed so far is for transformers. It seems easier for me to tap the fader open with my index finger than my thumb.

  9. are you scratching regular or hamster???

Well I haven't settled on that yet either. Pretty much everything that I've learned so far I just practice both ways. Regular seems to work better but I have a horrible fader right now that isn't loose at all, so when I get my new one then I'll be able to decide on that.

Seems right hand on the vinyl is the way to go though.

  10. I just got my tables a few months ago and I'm learning to scratch, but I cant decide which hand would be best to use on the record and which one for the fader. I'm right handed, so do you think learning one way would be better than the other in the long run, or does it really matter?
