  1. Eagerly awaiting mine! The raiden innofader will probably be sold out early, and I'm at the rare point in my life where I actually have some disposible income (even after saving), so I thought I'd check it out and maybe try the raiden innofader aswell if i can get a hold if one. If it doesn't pop, or pops noticably lower than the raiden, then it's an automatic win by me. I don't mind the popping of the raiden as much either, considering I only use it for travelling.
  2. ugh, yeah, the cue point drumming has to stop soon. some of them aren't even doing anything else but drumming the beat of the track they're using the drums from. The worst offenders only do the kick and snare in a regular ass 4/4 with no hats... the fuck is the point of that? not to be one of those guys who hate what battling has become, a lot because I never battled myself, but honestly the DVS route hasn't really been that great when seeing it on an aggregate. It just made people have an easier time producing their own routines, and at the same time exposing that they're not really that good creative, production wise or musically. Give me some sloppy 1998-2005 routines, and I'll probably be more interested in those than a lot today. Of course there a lot of cool dudes doing good shit, specially in the US which is still trying to keep the breakdown tradition going.
  3. Haha, so true. I remember seeing it and wondering how you would even clean it since it looked like the adjustments were on the side that you'd usually open to clean it, PXF had it beat at that. A pcv with no access to cleaning is prone to cracking and popping in my experience The original inno (and maybe the later ones too?) also didn't want you to open it up. so you lubed it through this hole and never actually manually cleaned out the gunk. it is magnetic, but does a couple of drops and some motion back and forth actually clean the rails that well? i remember it didn't excactly do that on the pcv or png faders as far as i remember. it works though and mine is silly loose (almost as loose as an eternal)
  4. I used to despise my proXfade. I bought one to replace the PnG in my Xone:02 back in like 05-06 or something, and it would NEVER.STOP.POPPING. no matter how well i cleaned it. and mind you, my PnG never popped. I'll be honest, I don't know why I updated from the PnG as I never had the fader decay issues people always talked about, so I probably convinced myself i had it. 16 year old insecure kid, hell yeah. Remember loving the Innofader I had in my PMC-007, but after having owned an Ecler Hak 380 and the Vestax pmc05proIII and the TTM56s in the years after my apartment burned down (took my 007 and hak 380 with it). I don't value to the need to adjust and tinker that much any more. I got an OG innofader included with my QFO, but jesus christ was it a fucking chore to get it to work without noticable popping, dunno if the newer ones solve this. Right now I've got it a bit too loose, but hell if i can be bothered to open up the qfo and adjust it. In all honesty, I think it's good for the industry, but i generally don't care. I never liked the ProXfade and the innofader isn't as magical as it once was for me. I'm completely fine with opening the rane ttm56 every three months and apply some lube.
  5. Hey, guys, I recently cut out a 7" traktor record since I thought i could get some more use out of my portable setup as a sketchpad for music (i travel a lot due to my work). Thinking it was all peachy i hooked the PT01 USB's line out to the Native Instrument Audio 6 and booted up Traktor, and holy shit... the PT01 seriously can't keep a steady speed. It sound like you modulated the pitch with an LFO at high frequency, but low amount. trying to sketch up ideas with it is aggrivating as fuck, since things easily sound out key all the time. I always knew it was shit, but not this shit. The problem is that i don't know if this is a motor issue or some stupid issue with the speed adjustment. According to traktor the -/+10% pitch is more like -3%, +12% or something and the zero mark is around +3 to +4% aswell. not excactly a uniform distribution to say the least. Unfortunately the only thing i know about electronics is to solder, so I really don't know how to fix this myself. Anyone of you guys who has had the same problem and know a semi decent solution to this? if not fixing, at least keep the speed steady and the pitch at the correct speeds to begin with. thanks in advance!
  6. can you post up a picture of the stem on the fader you recieved? did you get a new faderknob aswell?
  7. the firewire card in the o.g. d2 isn't the same as the the one in the d2.pro that NI links to the o.g d.2 has to be a mistake or something, as it's the pro's firwire card that has the right capabilities.
  8. i my opinion cut lag adjustments and two effect loops is a huge plus for me. not having a non-contact fader doesn't really bother me. i've owned a pro-x-fade that needed to be cleaned more than once a week, so having to clean a p&g or a pcv a couple of times a year ain't no problem. if i was to choose between them i'd pick the 08, unless the scratchbox was cheaper. vestax will release a firmware update to the 08 in august. a guy on the funkshitup board has gotten his 08 updated by Vestax http://www.vestaxpro.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4393 imo Vestax should have included an "update" usb port for easy updates, ergo not sending it to a service center to have it updated.
  9. Apparently the scratch world is short on multimeters innit http://www.eclerdjdivision.com/ec_forum/viewtopic.php?t=116 answer at the bottom
  10. i have the version with the P&G fader, and the pro-x-fade gave me more probs in the first month than the p&g has done in 3 months. so i'm more a P&G person now. the linefaders is not the best quality, but IMO they are ok. i can imagine that they'd last me a year or so. but if the ecler pro-faders don't fuck up the curves, then i'll be updating to that. and just to end the pro-fader 100kohm vs 50kohm argument, they are 100kohm according to Ecler. as for the 08, Vestax will release an OS update on it in the future. when it will be, only time will show. The A&H sound quality is wonderful, especially considering the price. the mixer is very well quality overall with a little exception of the linefaders, from an objective POV, but it's worth every penny. When i bought it I had some doe and it was either the xone:02 or the rane ttm56 in fact. But the 56's faderlength bugs me to a certain degree, might be because i haven't scratched on it enough perhaps, so i got the xone:02 and i haven't regret it for a second. Nice cut, nice lag and it generally just feels good. IMO get what you feel more comfortable with than the most spec'ed.
  11. doesn't cleaning with isoprolik alcohol void the pro-x-fade warranty as the isoprolik alcohol actually weakens the plastic? IMO the CF-CC just ain't worth it. it's only a pcv fader with cut lag adjustment. i'd rather buy a P&G, or just a regular PCV, and buy a shitload of rubberwashers and some rings like this: http://img386.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p10100457om.jpg thanks to dj virak for the pic. of course the cf-cc is easier when adjusting, but the with the P&G you don't have to fucking solder off the damn adjustment board everytime you need to lube or clean it. and you don't need to solder it back on either when you wanna use it. btw, the cf-cc isn't digital. it's fully analog.
  12. my pxf gave me these kind of problems at least once a week from the beginning. the last weeks i had the pxf, it started to give me loud scraping noises even after the fader had been cleaned, wiped clean of redisue, and the rails lubed. i never left the fader wet with anything ever, so i couldn't understand how this could happen. When i got my xone:02, i was too lazy to change the png to the pxf so i just scratched with the png. after 2 weeks the fader hadn't started to crackle or anything, and seeing that i had no use for the pro-x-fade anymore, i sold it. My P and G is two months running strong. uncleaned, no popping, no crackling, and only lubed once (last week). i'll probably buy the eclectic breaks linefaders, but i don't feel an urge to own a pro-x-fade crossfader anymore.
  13. can you put up a .swf/.exe file or something? i'm on a pc without administration-rights and i can't innstall winzip, thus i can't use you looper because it's in the .rar file
  14. only need an mbox and some monitors and i'll be set for a good while.
  15. if it doesn't cost as much as two months of rent, i'll def buy one as a third deck
  16. in my opinion reasonable doubt is the best rap album ever made followed by illmatic on the second place.
