  1. for real, live it a whole different matter As Acts_One alluded to, I had some technical trouble and had to restart my set for the first time in my battle career (albeit only about 15 seconds in during my intro, before I even started my first scratch or juggle). I'm pushing the current technology to it's limits and it's not holding up too well... even if I'm flawless with my execution Serato or the 62 bugs out about 25% of the time right now with how I have it set up, and it happened that night :/... crossing my fingers hard for worlds.
  2. haha no doubt... DV has been cleaning up battles the past few years, it feels like 50% of the DVers who have even attempted to battle have won something lol
  3. thanks dudes! sorry I'm so late to reply... I've basically just locked myself away practicing my solo routine and The Fresherthans routine, haven't been keeping up with the internet or my social life that much lol... hopefully it pays off
  4. I'm still rocking the 2s, although they seem to be getting harder to come by. The 2s are lighter, and I always have weird issues with the 2.5s, but I haven't tried them in about a year so maybe they improved something but I swear they wouldn't track backspins in some of my juggles half of the time so I quit using them. Other people had issues too and someone speculated that the volume was TOO loud and wasn't being tracked properly anymore when you spun it fast and it got even louder. Not sure if that's a real thing or not but seemed to make sense with what I was experiencing.
  5. Looks pretty tight. What were the bugs? Nothing toooo major, I just noticed sometimes if I hit the start/stop button while doing a juggle, the brake "sound" and the platter aren't 100% in sync. It's like the brake sound is an effect and the platter stopped quick, so when I back spun, to my sticker it wouldn't be in the right spot anymore. The other thing was the built in cue points seemed to be a little fickle, like they would work fine as the song was playing to do like pad drumming, but if I was trying to cue a track at 12 o'clock with the platter stopped, it sometimes wouldn't kick in until I let the record play a bit again. Like the platter movement seemed to not be tied to the sound 100%, but it didn't drift while I was scratching normally or juggling from my testing. However I had them right when they came out and from reading reddit a lot of bugs were fixed with firmware updates. They were the closest thing to a turntable in a CDJ that I've felt, and they were really light and approximately the same size as my 62.
  6. The Denon SC3900 seemed pretty decent from using it a short while. Still some little bugs I didn't love for doing routines, but it seemed like a pretty decent option overall.
  7. Congrats man, gl in the Aussie final. Win it this year why don't you?
  8. Hahaha I wish but I doubt it. I wouldn't wanna try to squeeze every dollar I can from DMC anyways... now if it was Red Bull I would be hassling them for the cash equivalent for sure

  10. thanks dude! no trickery at that part, it's just an electric guitar sample I dug up
  11. Yea no wet/dry fx loop on any of the new Ranes is there? The 62 doesn't have it either.
  12. Tracktitioners submitted late:
  13. Yea I already emailed them. Same thing happened with the 62, you couldn't midi map it until there were a few Serato updates. Presumably to minimize potential bugs because once you starting mapping all sorts of weird stuff happens.
  14. yup, 6 mins only. It's a gold 57mk2 btw, which looks a lot better than the gold 62... The 62 isn't the nicest looking mixer IMO, especially the gold + all the neon coloured lights. Ah yes, so it is. I couldn't tell glancing at my phone. Agreed - the 57mk2 (and the OG 57) is a better looking mixer than the 62. I think the layout of the 62 is probably more user-friendly though. In some ways yes, but I'm really digging the 57mk2 so far. The rubber buttons are dope/feel like they can take a beating, and I haven't missed too much from the 62 yet, except for midi mapping which is not yet enabled for the 57mk2.
  15. Thanks man! We tried to expand on that stuff a bit, beyond the simple swaps we did in War last year. Takes a bit of working with someone to get comfortable with doing it.

  17. haha yea we were conscious of C2C doing the blues thing and sampling basically the same riff, so we cut out a part of the routine that was a little more "normal" and stuck with the DnB flip. Glad you like it again dude!!
  18. Only 3 videos in the final, Tracktitioners haven't put up yet, and they changed the format slightly so the winner of Online battles head to head vs. 9 O'Clock at the worlds (if they choose to defend). Pretty disappointed with the turn out for the teams battle. There were more live teams in battles last year than the online battle this year... such a loss since team stuff is so dope and relatively unexplored, and one of the toughest things is the logistics of getting an entire team and equipment to a live battle. The team battle actually makes way more sense to be online, but still not much interest. However, I did enjoy both of the other team routines so at least people who did enter seem to have put effort in and not just thrown together garbage.
  19. thanks dude!! yea we tried to get a little bit more creative with the stab swapping thing... it started off so simple with just back and forths with the same note before it slowly got to the point it did there. Took a bit to get it coordinated haha
  20. that picture makes the between of my legs tingle
  21. DJ Brace! Amazing scratch musician and one of my good friends from Montreal . His solo stuff has been posted on DV before but here's one of em for you to peep:
  22. Another DV exclusive... for about 15 minutes or so Let us know what you think and such
  23. ditto, I'd still feel like a doosh rocking a gold setup... gotta win the big one to earn that privilege
