is there any software availiable or techniques that can break down a recorded song into its constituant instruments? i.e say if i hear a really dope bassline or drums but theres a load of unwanted stuff over the top of it, is there any way of cutting the rest of it out just leaving the desired bit to sample? wishful thinking i know but....

Try layering drums to make a your drums phatter, pick different drums with the properties your are looking for and mixe them together (e.g. take a deep 808 kick and layer it with a more snappy kick to give it a bit of a punch...layering claps with snares can make the more "snappy", just play about and experiment) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> legend nice one man... getting a trigger finger at xmas so lots to experiment with!

yeah i guess... its just a problem when i find drums or whatever and they sound too weak, or finding a nice synthy sound that i know will add depth but doesnt have the oomph at source you know? maybe im being a spaz
