  1. Sunday eve I might be able to have a crack - no guarantee though...
  2. Gotta say I enjoy this sort of thing way more than I should - even stuff like the Beef documentary. And sometimes the low budget adds to the charm. Take Cocaine Cowboys for instance.
  3. I heard first hand from someone who spent time around the hip hop scene in the late 90s in NY, who heard someone say G Rap was out of town cos of the "Eric B thing"...I've always wanted to know more. Oh btw don't sleep on This Chris Lighty Podcast series https://gimletmedia.com/mogul/
  4. They can all be good or bad depending on the clientele and the gig. Most bar sets are boring IMO but that's to do with where i've done them - the ones you can play exactly what you want are cool, unless it's because everyone is totally apathetic about the tunes. Weddings are good if its people who want the music you like. I think more and more people who get married want to do it "their way", hence want specific music. Basically, weddings where you can play wu are good fun. Club sets prob have the biggest pay off/satisfaction when they go well.
  5. Eric B definitely seems to be the man...I was hoping you'd get more of that from his Combat Jack podcast but he's just really polite and gentlemanly on that, which makes me think it all the more. Re death Row, you should read Have Gun Will Travel by Ronin Ro.
  6. Isn't stroke of death in RZAs "I invented serato" story?
  7. #ILoveItInTheBum???? Cmon Bro...tell more
  8. Meditate and fake it till you make it. When I battled (a few times) I was mega nervous, but got the advice of stand proud, puff your chest a bit and make sure you act like you're confident. Actually helps a lot. Plus everyone else has been there. People will respect the fact that you're there doing it, no matter what else happens.
  9. Haha cheers bro. I enjoy making shit like that a bit more now...when I make hip hop beats I'm always trying to imitate somebody, be it premo, Madlib whoever, but with stuff like this I don't have that.
  10. Selection above all else. And if you can't do it well (beat mixing/blending etc) don't try it at all.
  11. Here's mine: https://soundcloud.com/ikyomusic/dv-comp-the-way-it-repeats-rough
  12. Steve is a v popular name tbf.. Too soon? Hahahaha forgot about your fix!!!
  13. Thunder officially stolen
  14. People are just angry cos he made a fuck ton of money through licensing etc. If I'd done it I'd be way more of a dick than he probably is.
  15. Sorry mate, they've been snaffled - if anything changes I'll let you know though
  16. Nope, mainly a few dirt styles,Peabird, some lamont one and some other bits Prob nothing newer than about 2006 if that helps haha

  18. Oh Jimmy Fugees were on the radio 1 last night. Congrats O, sounds like you've got your remix on lock...
