  1. nah .. if you wanna keep it REAL you gotta get a fuck off kit like that THEN sample it into the MPC
  2. snuff... what sampler/plugins u using in cubase ? what do you think about the cubase sound quality..? A Mate had a similar setup but went one step futher and used a multi out soundcard into an anlogue mixer ... sounded fuckin dope...
  3. Just wondered what setup most people use for beatmaking....and why they do it that way ? From reading around alot of 'serious' HH production is done on MPC's , but having always used software i can't really figure out what advantage and MPC would bring .. Generally i write tracks in Reason, taking samples from my decks (recyle to convert) and using the synths. Midi input and automation is pretty simple in reason, and i like the way how you can distinguish loops easily in the sequencer. Once i've got most of the track down in reason i sample each track and then load them into sonicfoundry/sony Acid to do a final vol mix/eq/add fx. Acid is pretty cool. It's really easy to over dub stuff like cuts, acapellas, intruments etc .... also like the way you can draw automation on the tracks .....It's got VST and rewire support too ..
  4. been using recyle/reason for time ..... been considering getting an mpc ... but can't figure out what advantage it would have over using this combo ??? .. using recyle/reason gives pretty much the same results and is WAY quicker to program (and free !!!) ...... rewire in to cubase etc ... or resample your new loops and put Audio into any prog (like acid) u like ... heavy ! ..... don;t think the sound quality of fruity really matches reason ... ....btw, Saint ... you don't have to just use rex files in dr rex... i find the nxt advanced sampler thingy is much better ..... is recyle made by steinberg ? thought it was by propellerhead ..????
  5. ..... with some bate rapping in the middle ..... ....did this before i left Liverpool in 2003 http://www.savageradio.pwp.blueyonder.co.u...-cut-n-paste.rm
  6. Cheers mate - glad u liked, which ones do you want ? just the hiphop ones, or the lot ? Gonna have to look around for decent copies of em, some of em are pretty old n the soundclick files might be the only surviving copies of some... fucked most of the orginal projects , but learnt an important lesson about using the defult 'recording1.wav' file names when making samples that i actually wanna keep....
  7. thought i'd put a link to some old tunes that i'd done. Hardly get the chance to make beats these days. A few are HipHop and the rest are attempts at DnB (which i'm pretty much giving up making nowdays) enjoy ... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=315245
  8. really liked the sample that you used for that ... i'm with the others really, the choppy bits in the middle sound a bit out of place .... it flows so nicely up to then ... real laid back.... being super critical, the snare sounds a little synthetic , but i only notice this cause it's EXACTLY the same prob i've got at the moment
  9. man ... thats an ill tune !! BRRRAAPPP !
  10. omg - that game looks wicked - can see me losing many hours palying that
  11. nice cuts .. proper annoying having the day off, but the body clock force you to get up
  12. e z matt ...... man you got a phat record collection ..... it look pretty in pink as well
  13. cheers bud.. had it on cd when it first came out .. never picked up the LP.... funny - the track with the beasties was the best one on the album ....
  14. E Z, Thought i better introduce myself before starting posting .. My name\'s Adam, i\'ve had decks since \'96. Was proper into the beastie boys when i was younger, and wanted to learn to scratch like hurracaine. Started scrathing and then got technics around \'98. Went to uni, played at some nights me and mates setup. Couldn\'t afford records so started working out how to make beats and stuff on the pc to scratch over. These days, i;m confined to the spare room... try and write beats when i get a chance, was a bit on and off with the scratch practise until recently (when i started learning new stuff again - a break ALWAYS works when you get stuck in a rut). Wouldn;t say i\'m the greatest at cuttin, but am pretty geeky about it. I don;t know anyone else that into scratching , and got no-one to geek out with ..... if any one lives in south london and wants to meet up for a cut sometime..... Safe.
  15. I'm a lil confused why someone would buy this then not know what to do with it - what i'd do : Instuments -> soundcard inputs - record stuff on to your hard drive and sequence. Use software mixer to get record levels right (could sample your effected instument here if you wanted) souncard outs -> 8 channel mixer - stick your effects unit on the mixer effects buss... mix down your sampled and sequenced stuff..apply fx ..monitor on nice speakers, and record to dat ( or feed back into one of the soundcard inputs) hey presto ... nice sounding stuff
