  1. Seriously fun day yesterday, massive thanks to Eric for hosting, new faces that came down, everyone that travelled, Jon for bringing his s9 for us to finger and Jake for gracing us yet again with his world champ cutzz.
  2. Well i'm a 62 owner and i've used the S9..... here's a bit of a comparison .. Fader - S9 is probably a bit better just because of the customisation support provided - but ultimately if you know how you can get faders to feel how you want anyway - i had to mod my 62 :-( The concerning thing i've heard is that S9's cut in calibration while plugged in to a comp is different from stand alone analogue. Sound - both are top notch quality no issues here with either. Midi - S9 clearly a hands down winner here : soft pads x 16 over 4 banks each with 4 modes (leaving you with blanks to program your own functions) , buttons for software effects, the big spring loaded / locked fx toggle, Hardware FX - S9 again : From what i understood you can change them , so if you don't use an FX you can switch it out. Also the filters are configurable. Basically more customisable options on the 62. Oh and the mic channel has it's own dedicated delay fx , unlike the 62 which shares the single hardware fx across all channels Software - Serato -: The Pioneer needs an special Pio app to configure the S9. It could be the crack in the armor if it proves to be anything but rock solid ... Appearance - Tough one to call, i'm more of a functional person... I liked the S9 layout over the 62. I felt there was less redundancy. Having the duel screen on the S9 also helps a lot with the setup of all the new customisation options you have too. The S9 is the best value of the two cramming more in for less - but imho it does depend on how it performs in the field, which time will tell. If the S9 proves to be as rock solid as the 62 then it seems an obvious choice....
  3. That last vid is really dope. Much better idea moving the cassette, and he made his own fader box too.
  4. wanted to support so ordered the 5" test tone record. Quiet a nice quirky thing to have :-)
  5. Its that time of year again :-) With DMC on a Sunday again this year we couldn't find a feasible way of hook up a jam that would work with the contestants schedules :-( So like last year it's going to be on the following Sunday - 11th Oct, hosted by our very own new man about town and wooden spooner EricUK at Dj Academy Luton. Hope the beys can make it ! https://www.facebook.com/events/1476636052666202/ SuperScratchSunday 28 - Sunday 11th October- DJ Academy, Luton - post DMC jam. Following on from the turntablism crazyness at the DMC world championships held the weekend before, Super Scratch Sunday hosts the usual scratch jam goodness, hosted by DJ Academy Luton. Expect open decks, good vibes and maybe a DMC champ or two ;-) Usual SSS rules - bring records, needles , headphones, slipmats. 6. I grabbed Le Jabs sample pack this morning and had a quick browse. There's a pack of "Battle Skipless loops" , so i made a quick looper to put them in .. enjoy. (link valid for 7 days) http://we.tl/kqUm633IHU
  7. Well my raiden crackles like a SOB after 3 months, up for trying this out. Put me down for one pcb and fader kit please !
  8. @rockwell, I think the only exception is for the turntablism cat, where u must scratch jads samples but can use any beat..I gotta admit I find the rules a bit confusing and some of the categories could over lap a little . Wanna try this tho if I can find time. The sample pack jad provided is pretty huge and worth grabbing even if u don't plan to enter..
  9. Yay listened last night and enjoyed this one too - some absolute bangers , gonna have to find. lovin the GOALS beats - glad they are out in thw wild ... and thought moresounds set at the end was tight and had some pretty interesting tunes.
  10. damn that was such a good weekend ! Combining SSS and CSG for the first time was so dope, great to finally all get to cut together :-) Manipulate was such a beast, - at one point he was double hand, double deck no fader cutting it sound pretty insane.
  11. Awesome ! Congrats Broke !!! All the best for the finals
  12. yesss !!! really liking the beats on this one, my kind of thing :-)
  13. Congrats !! Free tickets to London YAY !!! Since you're coming as a double champ can you bank a free flight / nominate a friend / take a cash equivalent ?
  14. fuckkkkk i would have been totally down ...send me a text if there's a next time Ad
  15. That's him! Although I'm sure Adam just knows him as "Dave" by now. True story !! Dave did say he wanted to come to CS BBQ :-p
  16. ha it still makes me massively buzz hearing people cut over one of my beats ! stoked gents ! I went for Eric's - the yeah cuts at the end were great and i friggin love your tears
  17. Seems the bean munching got cut :-) and it really was something special too :-p re. line in - everyone bangs on about how great GOPro's are, but ive never met a user yet that can hook one up to the audio !
  18. DJ Rasp was in town and stopped by for a cut and to watch me drink coffee and eat baked beans on toast. He took some footage ..
  19. yo, this thread was confusing the fuck out of me so I checked with Thud ... It is 100% Thud, its not DJ-Tech Tools at all (apparently Thuds US distributor has made a big gaff mentioning DJ-Tech in their promo) ... in terms of hardware manufacture i was told they worked with a factory that already made mixers, i guess like Hanpin does for turntables...
  20. interesting ... Thud's own site does not mention DJ-Tech at all ! While DJ-Tech have it listed as a product ...... i got told the licencing didnt work any more (for DJ-Tech) and thats why it was 100% Thud and not DJ-Tech , and that the design was 100% Thud - the similarities were that they used the same manufacturer ... hmmmm the plot thickens ..
  21. I don't think that's true man - all the photos I've seen say "powered by dj-tech" on the back panel I saw the prototypes and got told that this was Thud Rumble only, but i've seen a few places saying this is a DJ-Tech mixer, but i really don't think that's the case - cause of licencing stuff Thud did this themselves.. http://i.imgur.com/NBSCkVK.jpg
  22. Yeah its gonna happen. Swiftstyle hooked it up and we shot a impromptu promo for it in Austin ;-) I grabbed the stokyo rec :-) also waiting on my triad breaks which I won in the Chi battle.
