  1. I just recently got an Ortofon Elektro for sampling, since I noticed that my M44-7s sound muddy compared to Ortofons (my opinion). I was blown away by the sound of the Elektros. Anyways, I know you guys hate Ortofon and stuff for scratching/juggling. However, I just got my Elektro, and I've been scratching and juggling with it for two hours, and I don't hear any record wear or anything. Also, they stuck to the groove really well. A bunch of you may hate Ortofon, but I don't. Just thought I'd say that.
  2. This is pretty normal. It just means you're running your phono amps harder than perhaps you ought. If you use the gains to set all your input signals to peak around 0dB then you'll not run into the same problems. With new records and high-output carts, you'll probabbly only need to turn your phono-stage gains up, say, a quarter-turn to produce a signal peaking at the correct levels. Whack on an old LP or use carts rated for a much lower mV output and you'll find you need to crank it up some more. Do you ever find you try to mix a track from an old LP into a new 12" that's already playing, but can't get enough boost to make the level of the old record match? It's the same deal. Keep your levels back down and you'll give yourself more room for adjustment. I know that's basic stuff, I don't mean to patronise, just clearing up the obvious for ya! No no, I understand what you mean, it's cool. Thanks.
  3. To be honest: not greatly from what you've said about how you're using it lol. Thanks. I mean, since I'm not using any effects, I don't think it can affect me. Only problem is, when I've been using the TTM56's AUX IN from the past, it always seemed to be too quiet...like, I had to crank up the AUX IN knob on the Rane and crank up the volume on whatever I was plugging into the AUX IN to hear anything.
  4. So how does the PMC not having an effects loop affect me? Also, I could, but I'd rather not, since my Mixvibes is hooked up to my Rane, which takes up my Line Inputs. Thanks for your replies thus far!
  5. I was planning on buying a Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro mixer to accomodate all the devices I'd need inputs for. However, I saw a deal online for a Vestax PMC-07 that was just too good to be passed up. As a result, I am wondering if I can plug my synthesizer outputs to the Line Inputs on the Vestax PMC-07 to listen to them? The PMC-07's Master Outs would be hooked up to the AUX IN on my Rane's TTM56 so that I could listen to whatever comes out of the PMC-07 on my Rane, where my MPC's outs would be connected to the Rane's Line Inputs, and the second set of Master Outs on the Rane would be connected to the MPC's Record In. Thanks.
  6. Alright. Put me down as a pre-order for now, but it might change a bit later. Hopefully it won't. If you're not for sure, then that's against the whole point of pre-ordering. Alright Xander, talk to me on AIM.
  7. Alright. Put me down as a pre-order for now, but it might change a bit later. Hopefully it won't.
  8. Yo Xander, tell me how much shipping is to 53233, because I might want it shipped if it's cheaper than sales tax, although it'd be nicer to pick it up.
  9. Actually, thing is, I heard that the GT is made from parts like the Scratch, but I also hear that it's not so bad on record wear.
  10. No problem. Hmmm, well, they look too similar to the M44-7, and I just want to try something new altogether. My next cart is either going to be a GT, Elektro, Q-bert, or Nightclub. Basically, those in the Ortofon range. Thanks though.
  11. Why would you want to change from the acknowledged leader of the cart scene? Because I want to try new carts. Having the same old carts is no fun. Naw man. You know me better than that, I'm not good enough at all. But I'll be seeing you at the GC Spin-Off next year! Interestingly, I didn't see any GTs used at DMC. Can anyone tell me any different? I don't think so, but I know that Tobeyer of Noisy Stylus uses them. Try Turntablelab. How is the skip resistance on these things? Are they better than the Shure M44-7s?
  12. I am thinking about getting this needle for scratching, but I can't find too much on it, except that it's supposed to compete with the Shure M44-7, which I currently own. However, I can't find anything on record wear of this cartridge. Has anyone tried it? If so, how is it? Thanks for any help.
  13. Nice beat! It's really catchy.

Damn bro, that's...amazing. Keep it up!
  15. Damn, that Mozart figure is badass.
  16. I didn't even know you could get new faceplates for the TTM56...
  17. How do people make their own beats? I always wanted to learn, but couldn't figure it out...thanks for any help.
  18. I just did a deal with this guy, and he is awesome! I got a pair of Shure M44-7s for a good deal, and we negotiated to meet up and everything. He's a nice guy, and communication was excellent. No one should hesitate to deal with him.
  19. That's some tight stuff you have there. 123 is chill, and The Monkey Pause is some good scratching. Nicely done.
  20. The first one is of Stepmania, which is all fingers on keyboard. Kind of nerdy, but cool.
