Anyone here still cuts with the Tascam XS-8? I bought one a few weeks ago as a second mixer. My main being the Numark DXM Pro. To me the Numark cuts are better, much better than the Tascam's. The Tascam at its sharpest setting has a noticeable fade when cuttin, the lag is good but I think the cut in is a bit soft. Probably because I got so used to the Numark's. What do you guys think of the Tascam if you've ever used it.
Bones I been checking your files out everytime you post and your scratching is pretty ill dude. That flow is incredible, thanks for posting and keep em coming man. Props!!
Please feel free to leave some feedback-all feedback is welcomed. I haven't been cutting much lately so I decided to hit record and practice. Thanks in advance for listening and once again some constructive criticism well appreciated. http://www.yousendit.com/download/OgddXli1kY8%3D
Cool mix, I really enjoyed the Gang Starr cuts-You Know My Steez, Code Of The Streets and Words That I Manifest, some of my favorites. I thought that someo fthe transitions could have been cleaner. The scratching was pretty tight though.
Thanks again Sigma. I really wanna make sure I don't jump the gun. I think more complicated and challenging scratches would be easier for me when the basics are mastered.
Well Here it is just a bit of scratching I did. I been cutting seriously for about 6 months or so-haven't been practicing very much though. Been mixing from 98/99 but was never into scratching as I am now. Take a listen and leave some feedback, it will all be appreciated. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...8ED03E85BE8BB59
I was digging the bassline for a bit. Wasn't really feeling the distorted tones, they seemed a bit off at points. I also felt like there was no structure, it seemed all over the place at some points but the pan @ the end was wicked.
