  1. Yeah definitely. Cutting with the lights off or your eyes closed is a perfect way to develop Hand-Ear Coordination. Then you aren't paying attention to how you're moving the record and the fader, only on the sound you're producing.
  2. Okay here is the updated track. Has a really nice climax and then bass drop. It's good stuff for my first track ever. So please give it a listen and lemme know what you think. Sorry again about the soundclick link. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/djstickeymusic.htm Oh and I sequenced it with Cooledit Pro 2.0
  3. Yeah i'm not that great at tears. I can pull off clover tears occasionally, but other than that not really.
  4. The section was called "Calypso" hahah whatever the fuck that is
  5. okay i'll post a newer (nearly finished) version this weekend. I'll be home visiting my girlfriend so i dunno how much i'll be on the forum, but i'll try to keep up. Anyway i worked the new version into a big, awesome beat immediately following the chinese stuff. I think it turned out well. Oh, and thanks Sig for uploading it. I still dunno why it doesn't work
  6. Not entirely sure what i'm gonna do with it yet. Yes, eventually cut over it. I'm wondering whether to keep the chinese stuff at the end. I'm gonna lower the tablas, and throw in some big bass kicks to make it all culminate into a strong, musical beat. Anybody have any opinion on the chinese stuff?
  7. Is your name seriously DJ Scrizzle? What do people call you when they want to add a "izzle" to the end of your name? DJ Scrizz-izzl mah nizzle? Or is it Scrizzle-izzl?
  8. Okay this is far from done. It's a very rough draft of a new track i'm making. So pleeeeeaaaasssseeee listen and lemme know what you think. The track is called Shadows. .:. SHADOWS (2.2MB) .:. **SIGMA EDIT - I uploaded it for you.
  9. oh shit, so i was at the record store just now and somebody had hidden these two records in some wacko section of music that i happened to be looking through for samples. I picked up "Imagine" by John Lennon and "Are you Experienced? The Jimi Hendrix Experience" for $10 total. I'm soo damn excited. And not singles. Full, original pressing albums.
  10. seriously that is some impressive stuff
  11. yeah...you're extremely good on the cut. You would have been a regular A-track
  12. If you start playing at 15 and die at 50, then you have 35 years to hone your skills. If you start at 25 and die at 50, then only 25 years. Understand? haha The earlier you start the more time you have to practice
  13. ???? how maybe? the earlier you start playing, the longer you have to play.
  14. if you're trying to hone your skills, starting early by definition gives you more time
  15. true. better to get an early start anyway
  16. I can't scratch well if my fader hand isn't dry
  17. hahah i just use the hiss, pop, and click eliminators when recording from vinyl
  18. i can't do faderless cuts worth shit. I sure as hell can't needle drop haha. I can never get back to the same sample
  19. The journey to fargonia track is incredible. When the ship blasts off and the beat drops, chills go down my spine. That is sooooo fucking good.
  20. I got it. I just can't seem to get the transition down between the clicks. That is, i get stuck going quickly from the two clicks forward to the two clicks backward
  21. Flip the faceplate. That's what i did with my XS-8. I actually like it better this way. The underside is slicker and doesn't scratch. And if it did, who cares?
  22. okay, i'll just stick to soulseek
