    Thank you all for that feedback ...

     

    Armed with that, on Monday I will ask the questions of the sales man who I hope can scratch ? maybe fingers crossed even juggle ??

     

    I will report back on the outcome.

     

    I want to just plug it in hook it up to a PC base unit and make itchy & scratch noise like I use to do ... No gigs ...

    The world final did in fact take place. A french guy won, but didn't use the current hotness that is a Le Jad set, but instead chose to play the sound of birdsong on one deck, a heartbeat loop on another and set about doing mime and jazz flute over the top. The highlight for me were the dwarf quartet stood in the 4 corners of the stage who shouted aaahh, beep, fresh and woooord in turn at exactly 112bpm.

     

    The judges and crowd were so stunned into a coma, which allowed the french guy simply walk off with the prizes and $10000 cheque. It wasn't until a full 2 hours later that the crowd came round and muttered "what the fuck just happened?" and started chanting "NEXT LEVEL" and went home to dig out their BBC sound workshop vinyl to try and emulate this years winning set.

     

    Expect to see interpretative dance, poetry and performance art at DMC next year complementing the "The champ is here" and "I will not lose" based soundscapes. Personally, I'm looking to do an entire set in sign language, or through the medium of knitting.

     

    It was worth watching the paint dry for the whole day afterall ... But nothing new there ...

    I never knew Macs were so shit with video formats .. I thought it would take any kind of video format.?

     

    Problem sorted with a program called m-video-converter for Mac ... It worked perfect.

    A mate of mine wants to edit some video from camcorder but the cam is 8mm and not digital so I recorded the footage from the cam onto my DVD-recorder harddrive and then put it onto DVD but he can not play or convert the vod files on his Mac ... I thought it might have been issue with the DVD-R but when he brought the DVD back it plays fine on my PC + DVD recorder. I even tried converting the footage to mpg but he still can not do anything with it ???

     

    Any advice / tips / software ???

    Yer the "Are you sure,really sure, do you really wanna do you really wanna" is a bit of a pain BUT once you got all the good stuff installed you very rarely see it... Vista reminds me of Directory Opus that I use to use on the Amiga ...

     

    Think for anyone new of computers Vista is piss easy to get use to ... :d

    Just got a new base unit and it came with Vista - Home Premium Edition pre-installed ... When I left the store I was thinking when I get home I am going to install my red'g copy XP Pro but while on the drive home I got to thinking well I might just fuk around with vista and see what I can slag off about it ... Well had it 2 days now and I really like it .. turned off all the fluffy shit but it really is fast but I am sure that is the CPU will be part of the speed fact over the OS but really do like it ....

    Everytime I convert a pdf file with acrobat 8 pro it puts to tital at the top of the pdf + the address address + orig file nane from were it was converted from at the bottom of each page ..

     

    I am sure it will be a simple as untick a box in prefs or something but can not find it and it is really pissing me off cos I have over 50 htm files to conver to pdf for a punter ...

     

    Anyone help?
