  1. Hi In my opinion focus fader is the best fader out there. It is simple and does what I need, it cuts without any unnecessary tension-fade calibrations and other expensive stuff. I try to find out how it works I am not so good at circuits and i cant read a circuit diagram so i opened my fader and tried to understand and I need your help to tell me if i got it right. So here is the focus fader This is a drawing I made So the powers comes in at V+ and it brakes to 2 ''paths''. The one powers the 2 opto interrupters and then goes to Ground. The other sends power to VC1 and VC2 which are the channels of the mixer, so when there is power sent the sound is ON but when the opto interrupter is closed there is no power sent so the sound is OFF. Both channels are connected to ground with resistor. Did i get it right? Is this how it works?

  4. 'Kissing My Love' is a good example of this ..theres so many different versions available of the track ^^^Oh yeah I think Cindy is hawt btw ! LOL Kissing My Love is wicked. I was going to post Spider Juice by The Shadows but... Everyone knows it. It's not shit (although the rest of the LP is pretty dire).

  6. I like it when someone write a tune with a drum break and then everyone who covers it makes sure they include the breaks in their version. That last one's dope. Where's the one on your mix? The one with the Busta acappella over the top?

  7. Put Your Hand in the Hand is one of those great tunes where the break is nearly always there so if you see it as a cover or compilation you've probably got a dope break regardless of how shit the rest of the record is.

  8. doobie brothers is definately a band that owes us all many hours of wasted time digging, finding a record that's called "doobie brothers" and not being awesome weed-themed funk all the way through. I must have spent nearly £5 in total on their shite over the years, and i want it back!!!!

  11. The stereo input on the PT-01 is just for recording external sources through the built-in USB port, you can't use it like an FX return. That will just create a feedback loop as Mutis said, you can't play external sources on a pt-01. You can with the pt-01scratch but I've never tried that. You want your signal chain to go "pt01 USB -> ipad -> external speaker/mixer/fader/whatever"

  12. Yeah that's basically it. R1 and R4 are current limiting resistors for the LEDs, and R2/R3 are emitter resistors for the phototransistors, which are set up in a common-collector design - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_collector R2/R3 are (presumably) high enough in value so they pretty much cause the transistors to switch on immediately without any linear region. EDIT : although, you said "power" when you really mean "voltage".

  15. I've more or less gotten all the parts to build a diy (hi-res) MIDI fader that will allow for that kind of stuff. So you'd obviously get the normal crossfader position, but you can then also extract direction, velocity, accel, absolute distance from center/edge, delta/change values, etc... And it being purely software based too, you can have super tweaked curves, and multiple curves applied, so a sharp start, but then a smoother taper up a bit, then another stretch with a linear curve, etc... Once I get it built I'll post it, along with the code/partslist etc....
