  2. Opera is based on Chromium so it has the same rendering engine as Chrome (and Edge for that matter) so they should be working the same... however I haven't used it in years so I don't know what it's worth in 2024. I moved from Chrome to Firefox years ago for the increased security it (seemingly) provides.
  3. kid koala is another evil genius. very creative. you ever look at his youtube channel? he got toys and gadgets. making scratch sounds for cartoon characters in children books.
  4. Your Rob Swift answer made me think of Kid Koala. I've never heard him scratch Ahhh or something easy to judge like that but seems pretty good.
  5. D-styles. he just so melodic with it. Q is just insane. he's like the obvious pick Rob swift. rob can be complex and simple.
  6. This is my submission to the homie Es Tribute to Tribe remix contest
  7. Of course number one is D-Styles aka Mustache Styles followed by Q and DJ Premier as third choice as I dig his funky/musical delivery in the cuts and unique digging for phrases. Honorable mentions...Deeswift, the Ruck, IQ and Pan Jaras
  8. Oh man. Great call. Also great. I'd put either of those above P-Trix on my list.
  9. Opera is a dope browser. Used it forever then had some issues for a bit and started using Chrome and just never switched back.
  10. Oh shit! There's a difference between the Series S and One S??? FML
  11. I love that mixer. You gonna put a new x-fader in? Mine has a Pro-X that's pretty sweet.
  12. i got my son a new laptop for his birthday. his friends on discord is telling him to switch to Opera for a web browser. they say its better and uses less ram than chrome. He was asking me about it but i have no experience with it. Have any of you used it? any good??
  13. I'm shit at picking my top X of anything. D-Styles has to be up there, cos he has a perfect mix of old and new styles done with extreme precision and a ton of funk. He will do combos that Mixmaster Ice used to do on UTFO records back in the 80s, stabs done fast and sharp, relatively basic transform patterns, then next minute he's doing some crazy current scratch/combo that I don't even understand, and I think that's what makes him stand out to me. He's always kept pushing forwards, but without leaving anything behind and he's continued to improve, where a lot of DJs who started out when he did hit a plateau way earlier. Qbert is another obvious pick. I used to buy the DMC world championship videos via mail order from DMC back in the late 80s and early 90s when there was no internet, so the 1991 DMC final was the first time I became aware of him, and he just seemed so far ahead of everyone else. I bought a couple of Qbert tapes via an ad in the back of a magazine back in 1991, with one of them being a live scratch session in some club, and I'd never heard scratching like it. Those 2 are such obvious picks cos they've been able to stay at the top of their game even into their 50s, and they've produced so much content over the years. Picking a third is hard cos there's so many candidates, most of whom have not put out a ton of stuff. I'm a big fan of chile, IQ, Swiftstyle, Pan Jaras, Unkut, and of course, Deeswift.
  14. Is it a Series S you have, or the older One S? I can't remember. MS don't allow Series X exclusives, so it will definitely come to the Series S if that's what you have.

  16. Allen & Heath Xone 02, £140, sounds ace!
  17. In no particular order... Q D Dee Honorable mentions: DJ Astro, DJ Excess, DJ Sara
  18. 1. D-Styles 2. Qbert 3. P-Trix My list is probably pretty generic. So many greats like Dee, Flare, Quest, MMM, Prime Cuts Skratch Bastid, i.e. Merge, Rafik, etc to consider... hard to pick top 3. I picked considering influence, point in time, battles, turntablist bands, releases, etc. Trying to kind of come up with a holistic rubric. P-Trix is probably an odd one but one of the first people I remember that really could scratch equally well with either hand and turntable on or off. MMM is probably my runner up just because he was so unique.
  19. After 24 years of listening to people cut I'd love to hear your top 3 of all time. I'm not talking so much about routines, but that straight ability to freestyle. Here are my GOATs: 3. Dee-Swift - everything about his 2001 electro file gives me goosebumps, even him cutting the beat at the start of the session. 2. D-Styles - he's just got the funk. His patterns are inhuman. 1. Toadstyle - nothing beats Switchblade Sermons for me. Plus some of his freestyles with Gunkhole and Ned Hoddings. Honourable mentions would go to Chile, Muzzell and Tigerstyle. Let me know your top 3 and if you agree/disagree. Hoping to find a few DJs I've slept on as well!

  21. That one looks a lot better. The different color mixer control section is ugly. Personally, I don't like the pitch control being both on the right side of the platter. I guess it's more traditional but something about it bothers me. I had to think about my controller for a bit to remember how mine is arranged. That's feels like a design issue... I've never thought about or noticed where my pitch is located because it looks natural and symmetric whereas this instantly caught my eye. Is it modular or something? That would be a justifiable explanation. If you can just swap out a deck if it breaks that would be pretty savvy. The image top looks meh. I guess it's kinda neat but a ton of my tracks don't even have album images. Most of all I would worry about that... seems neat but also just another thing to break.
  22. Another "leaked" image. It seems releasing soon...
  23. I cannot wait for this game to come out. It's been over a decade since the last one due to licensing issues. But now they can pay college athletes for NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) it's coming back! Pretty rad trailer. Supposedly the S can run it. Really hope so because I'm not buying another system unless it's a Switch 2.
  24. I unlocked all of the achievements in Brotato, a game I mentioned a couple of posts up. I think it's probably my favourite game of this type so far, because each of the 44 different characters has their own strengths and weaknesses, sometimes major ones, and that affects how you have to approach a run and build your stats. Also, in terms of value, it's hard to beat games like this. I'm not sure if I'll continue playing now that I have all of the achievements, but I've got almost 65 hours of play time out of a game that only cost me a couple of quid, and I could have just played it as part of Game Pass; I only bought it cos I liked it so much.
  25. When I eventually upgrade mixers, it'll likely be the S9 or S11. Yes, they're sexy ass mixers and Pioneer makes awesome products.
  26. wasnt sure where to post this so stuck it in here, apologies if its the wrong section! For anyone that's interested in a 1 to 1 session sometime heres some info -https://www.patreon.com/posts/1-to-1-sessions-104969708
  27. Still got a gold S9 in my cupboard that’s never been opened.
  28. Got myself a second-hand Pioneer DJM S9 last week for 700 swiss francs. So far I'm really pleased. The only thing missing to me is the channel swap feature (long live the PMC07) as I'm a euro-scratch-whore. But other than that it's a sexy mixer.
