IF I DIDN'T ASK I WOULN'T KNOW!

Anyways... I've really had to work my knowledge of hip hop backwards... starting with the current shit, going back to "golden era" common/mos def/talib/ATCQ/gangstarr, etc., but I've only really began to learn about DITC, Pete Rock & Beatnuts, etc. these past few months, thats how learning goes I guess...

I'm def' hooked on pete rock though - shit is far far too ill. When I saw that "rarities" mix I was like "LORD YES!!!!"

C'mon guys, no need to laugh and act the fool... there's heaps a lot of us don't know about a lot of stuff. And not to mention, scratching and tablism these days is quite far removed from hip-hop anyway, so it's not an absolute given that a scratch DJ is well versed in hip-hop knowledge.

Here's a site for you Xander: -

http://www.hiphopcongress.com/7123/with_fl...html/index.html

In the bottom right hand corner of the screen it says:-

DID YOU KNOW??

Afrika Bambataa is known as the grandfather of hip hop.

:p

His name is Bambaataa and he was the Godfather of hip hop BTW.

Hah, I'll point that out to them...

Steve, was that a joke intentional? You know that I'm a chapter head of one of the HHC chapters? Maybe me asking this Q was a bad sign for our org, haha, but at least I know now!
