djxander
IF I DIDN'T ASK I WOULN'T KNOW! Anyways... I've really had to work my knowledge of hip hop backwards... starting with the current shit, going back to "golden era" common/mos def/talib/ATCQ/gangstarr, etc., but I've only really began to learn about DITC, Pete Rock & Beatnuts, etc. these past few months, thats how learning goes I guess... I'm def' hooked on pete rock though - shit is far far too ill. When I saw that "rarities" mix I was like "LORD YES!!!!"
Mike Menace
the golden era was 86 till 88 imo

Chee
C'mon guys, no need to laugh and act the fool... there's heaps a lot of us don't know about a lot of stuff. And not to mention, scratching and tablism these days is quite far removed from hip-hop anyway, so it's not an absolute given that a scratch DJ is well versed in hip-hop knowledge. You know that I'm a chapter head of one of the HHC chapters? Maybe me asking this Q was a bad sign for our org, haha, but at least I know now! Steve
It was intentional yes. That's the only reason I was surprised you didn't know more about Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth.
