Some greats got cut from the list due to quantity of songs produced in that year. funny how No I.D. only made the list because of the 4:44 album. Guest petesasqwax Posted November 3, 2018 Share Posted November 3, 2018 Actually, 90 is definitely Bomb Squad and arguably 92 was Dre (although it wasn't what I was listening to). 1991 - Tribe, Large Pro or Muggs were all either more infuential, more consistent or sold more units 1994 - Premo, as others have already stated. 1995 - I don't hate the idea of giving it to RZA - he killed it in 95. 1996 - is Organized Noize because of ATLiens? Bullshit. If you're going down that road just give it fucking Wyclef for the 2nd Fugees 1997 - Timbaland had as much influence as anyone. Not my cuppa, but who's honestly arguing against that? People copied that for years and he worked with everyone on the strength of that Missy album. 1998 - Premo was everywhere again. Gangstarr were larger than they'd ever been but Premo especially was immense.
