Jam Burglar
Whats the little button between the pitch slider and the tonearm??? Looks like the quartz lock button. This started with the M3D and carried over to future models.
Mike-L
Isn't that the Quartz lock button? Newer models have no zero notch on the pitch fader so thats for setting it to exactly 0%. Oops jam beat me to it.
savwar
no, not the reset button, the one between the pitch slider near the bit where the tone arm is connected to the base... (can't believe i can't think of a better way of describing that...)actually it looks like it has X2 written on it so maybe it's to change the pitch to +
Steve
Yeah, it's definitely there to change the pitch to +/- 16 as it mentions that in the specs: - http://shop.panasonic.com/about-us-latest-news-press-releases/01042017-SL-1200GR.html
DJ Rock Well
+/- 16%!!!! How revolutionary. I did like the recent comment from Technics that these definitely aren't aimed at DJs... Sure, because if you're a hifi nerd with 3 grand to drop on a turntable, a 1200 with pitch control will be your first port of call!
Jam Burglar
Yep, the M5G's have that +/- 16% button too. I paid something like $500 a piece for my M5gs. $3000 is atrocious.

waxdestroyer
Whats the little button between the pitch slider and the tonearm??? Looks like the quartz lock button. This started with the M3D and carried over to future models. Back in 94 or something they released the first Gold Edition for consumers wich also had a reset quartz lock button. The M3Ds came out in 97. Guest rasteri
Hmm that's less than a CDJ... I can see them being used by DJs now
props to the finger
I read on the ttlab instagram that it'll retail for $2000 a piece? Fucking beyond stupid. The only thing interesting about these is the prospect of actually owning a new pair of techs these days. The 1200 are still the most beautiful things ever, though. savwar
It also might curb some of the idiots trying to sell 2nd hand ones at ridiculous prices "because they done make em anymore"
Obi1jacobi
I remember how crazy the prices shot up after the factory burned down.... never came back down....
