d00ban
Might sound like a daft question but I'm not so sure any more? I know you can plus it straight in to the new Pioneer CDJs and they act as the sound card, so does any one know if it is possible with other sound cards? Chris
It's only dvs capability that's locked to ni or specific traktor certified mixers, traktor can use any sound card.
d00ban
Awesome I was hoping you'd chip in! My sound card is packing up and I also need a midi controller for some VJ stuff I'm looking at... The Xone K2 seems like it might be a good option, what you reckon? Would be fun to use to play with Traktor too.
Chris
The K2 is wicked, it's really well built and has lots of control options and a great audio interface. The Kontrol F1 is a better choice for Traktor, but as an all rounder for using with VJ software etc too the K2 gets my vote, I think. d00ban
Sweet! It'd really be for an audio interface in the first instance, midi controller for VJ stuff second and Controller for traktor third. Thanks for the advice mate! Dubba Dutchdj
Another cool thing you can do with any soundcard is rought the I/O thru the send and return loop on your mixer, then you'll be able to route real vinyl thru Traktor and have access to post fade fx and the loop recorder. d00ban
cool, sounds like an ok set up
Dubba Dutchdj
Then you could add a basic midi foot pedal and ya got a powerful multi fx/loop pedal in one move. Depending on your computer it should be poss to run SSL at the same time. Edited December 6, 2012 by Dubba Dutchdj
d00ban
Hmm, I was hoping this had inputs too so I could double it up as a sound card to record stuff with. Doesn't look like it's going to be a goer, which is a real shame!
motosega
it is possibleto run dvs without an approved soundcard, but it isn't legal. i don't use cracked software myself, since there are good enough open source versions of everything, but if you actualy have a licence why the hell not download a cracked version of the same soft? like back in the old days when the cracked verion of cubase on the atari st actually fixed some bugs that stienberg hadn't dealt with? why you'd want to do this if you actualy had an aprooved traktor interface i'm not sure tho. naughty boy!
