djdiggla
Last night a friend helped me do the internal ground mod on my tech. Worked real good and was pretty easy. The screws are janky tho. I also replaced the popup light. It was impossible to get out and the spring loaded part almost shot him in the eye.

Wax On
nice, I'd like to do the internal ground mod. I'd like to do the phono socket mod too
doppelkorn
Is that so you can use better RCA cables Wax?
djdiggla
^^yup. Dope mod. No I didn't do, Dissonance. I bought the light about a year ago and dunno why I didn't go LED and cool color but oh well. Maybe someday I'll do that. Obviously if I do it over I would. I think I felt like the ones on eBay looked sketchy but can't remember why I went with the conventional.
Wax On
You can hardwire better quality RCA cables - its more so you can take them off when you're moving your decks. But also if your RCAs fuck up, swapping them isn't an issue.
Chris
I've done a bunch of rca + internal ground mods, they're pretty awesome. Mike at Trusound (UK) sells a kit for £25 and it's a 15 minute job, it leaves a metal l/r rca socket in place of the old cable outlet and you don't have to worry about earthing anymore. Really cool. Chris
he sells really nice rca cables too, nothing mental but they last a bunch and don't cost much.
doppelkorn
Does it require soldering? I need a new iron
Wax On
Can we do the mods on one of my tables one day Chris?
Chris
Yeah, it's a case of desoldering and resoldering the connections to a little circuit. It's not too tough as long as you don't rush... here's the link: http://www.trusound.co.uk/product.php?product_id=2 It's only £18 in fact, so cheaper than I thought. Sure thing Waxy, let's do it.
