will
I've got an M-Audio Firewire 410 external sound card, and sometimes the playback becomes distorted. It happens in both Ableton and Adobe Audition and I have no idea what it is (I am a bit thick though when it comes to this sort of thing). Anyone have any ideas? I'm using a firewire expresscard adapter if that has anything to do with it.
Chris
You will either have to increase your buffer size or sort out any other processes which cause spikes- your sample rate is being crippled as your computer can't handle things... Reducing your sample rate is a way to improve performance without increasing buffer size (which increases latency) Hope this helps!!
doppelkorn
^ what he said! Also what's your OS?
will
I'm using windows vista. It's a vaio, about 6 months old, 3 gig memory. I'm using asio drivers and have the sound card set at 44100 sample rate, buffer size is currently 512 though I had it on 256 before and had the same problem. I tried recording a mix in audition but there were audible clicks and pops that aren't on the vinyl.
