Bubba
I remember steve posting up some stuff about how to create a textfile, which you then insert into the same folder as your mp3-mix, which then contains the trackmarks...but I couldn't find that on the new page (i.e.). I was wondering tho, if I make say a 45min mix and want to add it to my ipod would that technique of adding trackmarks via a textfile even work? Or is there some better way of doing it these days? Any insights would be great as to how to fix the constant problem of adding trackmarks to mixes so that you can use the forward and backwards button to navigate through the mix. Greetings O. Steve
That's called a CUE sheet. I don't think there are any mp3 players that support them though. Here's a solution for certain models of iPod, but you'll need to split the mp3 into separate tracks: - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1797
Bubba
thanks steve i was wondering what the correct term was for "cue sheets". re: the itunes/ipod option. I'll have to take a look at that then and see if it works nicely or not. it's funny though, because it seems to be a very common problem which a lot of djs have and still there doesn't seem to be an optimal solution. pee.z o. Paul_Caruso
You might try creating an 'Enhanced Podcast' which is basically an .aac file with embedded chapters and images etc. I think you can only play these on iPods or iTunes - google it and I'm sure you'll find out how to do it easily enough...
