Bubba
Loop, yeah sorry. You're right about "electro" originally being the breakdance beats peeps would listen to afrika bambataa etc. However electro in a modern sense (to be more precise: electro house) is more like tech house than what you fellas dj...your genres (to me at least) is much closer to bmore and uptempo hiphop than to the continental (yeah call me eurotrash ;o) ) definition of electro. Personally I dj tech house/electro and minimal which are all similar (except for minimal which is perhaps closer to detroit than to house) these days. It's just that matt got me to think a little bit about the definition of "electro house" when he came over and djed as I personally was expecting something else. His set was killer tho... To me it's just a question of "labelling" so that I can place my head in the right box so that I know what to expect when I'm about to listen to a mix... pee.z
Sounds like a crime
I dunno because in certain countries Electro House means different things. I when I was sorting through tunes I use to just label them as Electro &dance.. Now I find myself Putting them "elctro House, Electro Indie, b-more Etc" Sometimes I track falls under all these... I've listened to some electro House stuff and it was borderline Hardstyle. And other times its has been so minimal. Tbh I love french Electro Like Ed banger. I think thats Electro House.. But also stuff like crookers.
Bubba
French Electro is the bomb. They most defnitely know how to make them banging tunes. Check out ABF underground (either on Itunes radio or M2 internet radio...) some really heavy tunes being played on there...
