Dupion
hey got serato yesterday and installed it on my macbook pro. mp3's are all fine - i can see the music playing (on waveform and serato's output meter) and control it w/ my turntable but can't hear anything - ableton and itunes etc all work fine still there doesn't appear to be anything in setup which allows you to change output settings etc. sorry if i'm jus bein an idiot but i can't figure this out: any help is very much appreciated!!! Jon
check your line switch is set to line? there is a master control knob in the serato program but u dont need it set mroe than 12 " clock
broma
The sound will still have to come from your turntable mixer so unless your mixer is outputing to your laptop you wont hear it. And it'd sound shit anyway.
Liam
Do a continuity check. If you have one, th easiest way would be to stick a multi-meter onto the Serato outputs and see if you're getting an output, but I'm going to hazzard a guess that you don't have one, so try connecting it directly to an amp. If everything looks as if it's set up correctly, check all th stupid stuff (amp turned up? Gains on mixer? Cables?) because it'll most likely be a straightforward problem. A cheapass couple-of-quid multimeter is very handy, if you ever see one on a market stall or Ebay or whatever, then pick it up. EDIT e.g. this one on eGay for a few quid, hardly a pro model but nifty for all kinds of quick checks.
