  1. scratching over a beat is good thing.

doing the one deck mixing is good too!!!

and fs runs on windows (no need for linux)

i am gonna get my ass to cookies in tunstall and have a go on one of them cdx's. if they perform good, then i may buy one.

reckon the price will drop soon?

  2. yeh, the sound would go kinda funny when you whipped the record back fast. almost like the sound of when you " search " or " skip " on a cd. most cuts were ok. tears were ok. these problems were less apparent with a higher kb file. ie one recorded at 320kb was better than one rec'd at 192kb. that makes sense.

dubse7en said there is a new fs coming out, that is firewire instead of usb, and should be even better. it aint without its teeny flaws, but the +'s far outweigh them.

  3. Hmm do you think i would be ok without a firewall then seeing as i run a hardware router?

i think so. if the router has NAT. (which i guess it must)

mine does, and that masks my ip from the outside therefore making me unsusceptable to attack.

before i was using the router, i was hacked constantly. like in the time it took me to download the firewall, i got a virus.

now i have router, and no firewall running, i don't get any viri.

and it's one less thing to wait for when the pc is starting up.

  4. here's a couple of loop players i have created.

if you haven't got them already get them here:

loop playa 2 - clown beats

some geezer named clown :d appears to be dab hand at providing beats. i looped up 5 of them.

    i recommend beat 3 . . . .

    .:. loop player 2 .:.

    loop playa 4 - j5 + cube + james

first 3 beats are J5's. the other 2 are cube's natural born killaz, and the godfather of soul's funky drummer

    .:. loop player 4 .:.

both of these are flash executables, and are about 1.5mb in size. get em while the getting's good . . .

  5. last night i finally got to have a go on final scratch. it really is an awesome piece of kit. the good things being (obviously) the wide range of tunes you can use. but it was the pitch control that got me. the way that you can either speed up / slow down the tune as normal, OR pitch up and pitch down. that is dope. and you can use it with one turntable - cut a track in, leave it playing in final scratch whilst having assigned the next track to the turntable ready to cut in. its a dope piece of kit, it really is. very impressed.

  6. i have 2 pc's. an old amd900, that my good lady uses for her college stuff. then upstairs in the attic i got the beast. a p4 2.8 thats hooked up to all my equipment.

both are connected to NTL broadband via a router. if you are in the market for a router, ebay has an abundance of the smeggers, for about 20-25 quid a pop
