I just listened to this, and it is very good. Well researched and accurate.

It was all "voted" for by some desk jockey at Channel 4 who had no clue about hip hop. He saw a mention of a guy called "Kool Herc" and thought who the fuck is he? Probably no one important. Bung him in at number 25. Now back to the camera effects . . . . I likes those, so I do. Must put more in. Oh give Nas a bunch of sleeping pills before we interview him, and keep tricking the audience into thinking we are saving the best until last . . . . . the joke's on them!! Now, must get this Hip hop list finished. I gotta do the top 50 fishing rods, and top 10 testicle injuries before lunch.

That hits the nail on the head. It was obviously put together by similar people. It is a shame. It could have been good. But was wishy washy crap, thin on accuracy. They should have got someone into Hip hop to help direct it. Then when the producer (or whoever) said "lets FUCK every shot of DJing with STUPID CUNTY CAMERA EFFECTS", the Hip hop adviser could have said - "No, don't do that. You chump. It will look really shit."

Breakdance the Movie was better than this latest Channel 4 "top 50 countdown" craporama.

I got a new laptop for my boss, and fitted a SSD and resintalled it with Windows 7 Pro. It was awesome. It would startup from hitting the power switch to desktop in about 15 seconds. Shutdown was about 5 seconds. It is certainly a big step from a SATA. A bit like going from IDE to SATA, but maybe more so. The drives are expensive still though. Also when it was running, starting up things like Powerpoint 2007 were virtually instant. I didn't give it much hammer, as I was under pressure to get it set up and delivered back to him so I didn't really get any day to day testing, but if you can afford it, then it's a shoe-in for extra speed. However . . . . . With a mechanical drive, if you have a catastrophic failure, you can get software that reads the sectors. Or maybe even swap the controller PCB if that dies. Or at a push, take out the disks and rebuild into another drive. With solid state, when it's fucked, it is fucked. Not sure on the lifespan of a SSD. I know anything after 3 years on a mechanical drive is a bonus. However maybe SSD's just don't fail, or degrade. Although that said, I do have some old memory sticks (from Sony cameras) that just will not work anymore.

For Howie Tee, get Bang Zoom (lets go go). Short, but super sharp scratch break. Might be some good cuts on the "Whistle" album (the "only bugging" guys) - HT was "silver spinner" Jazzy J - Jazzy J on the scratch (Robbie B + Jazzy Jay) Bobcat - Jack the Ripper has some good Bobcat scratching. Also Go Cut Creator Go has some good cuts on it (it aint cut creator!!!) CJ Mackintosh - you need "The tables are turning" - I have a good mp3 rip of that I can upload for you. Those are the earliest tears on vinyl. At least as far as I know. Pumpkin was the session drummer at Sugarhill. Hence why he was the "king of the beats" (or king of the pizza?)

I have plenty of suggestions for you. Start with Rockit, obviously Include the likes of: Fresh Mess (jam-your radio) (Knights of the Turntables), 2,3,break (both versions, BBoys and D.J. Born Supreme Allah), deuce ace housin (Tuff Crew), We Come to (scratch) (Imperial Bothers) and so on. It depends how in depth you want to go, but there are plenty of "mostly scratching" tracks from that era. Maybe even include "DJ Cuttin'" by "the NYC Cutter" (Marley Marl) . . . . . maybe For tracks that had good cuts in the 80's, but weren't just scratching (had rapping too!) - The Magnificent Jazzy Jeff (Jeff and Prince), Aladdin's on a Rampage (Low Pro), Ugly People Be Quiet (Cash and Marvellous), King Cutt (Word of Mouth), The Tables are Turning (CJ and Einstein) I got a million of 'em

i had a bit of a wrangle with my hosts i had exceeded my limit and they were trying to contact me. however they had the wrong email address. they had been trying for a while, and then took down some of the larger files then they phoned me and told me its hard to keep track of what i have up there!
