beware, the funk is everywhere.... the best starting place would be to get hold of all the ultimate breaks & beats lp's and the dusty fingers comps. as for the p-funk sound no one does it better than the masters and you already have the parliment/funkadelic shit , yeah? for great groups with great back catalogues try the meters, kool & the gang & the jb's. 1970 - 1973 were probably the best years for 'da real funky shit' but funk can come from anywhere and any year in the last 40 odd for some newer ish check the new mastersounds, little barrie, speedometer, breakestra etc digging in the field? look for big afros, junkies/drug references, (semi)naked women on the cover, 70-73+, drums there are thousands of compilations out full of the cream of the funk world, these would be the best place to start & usually all the info you need to start digging properly can be found in the liner notes.

Robbo was going to be interviewed on the bbc's culture show.. it was supposed to be aired the night before banksys premier... it got pulled 30 mins before airing. banksys supposed to be spitting dummies because in 2 big interviews about his film the he's been quizzed about king robbo lol. Robbo also had an article published in the wall street journal relating to the banksy isht. the circus rolls on

dont know if any of you have heard of Robbo, hes an old school london graff don and heres one of his pieces fom 1985. fair enough over the years this piece got pretty dogged and 'vandalized' (lol) but for the most part it was still visible... history now i like banksys stuff and i like this... but the cost is too high (pic by Romany WG, check him on flickr.. top photographer ) so i get up christmas morning, check the net on my shiny ipod touch and my heart is filled with joy when i see this... long live King Robbo Discuss?
