  1. i use djdecks - it is very good
  2. ah, i see it, sorry disregard
  3. where's this setting? there's hardly any settings in the one i got (v 5.0.227)
  4. i can chip in my 2 pence worth on the kaspersky v symantec debate i've used symantec corporate for a while and no complaints until lately it gets an update every wednesday but it is about 9meg i think it is trying to update the core engine etc but must be having a problem so keeps trying every week so today i thought i'd try kaspersky on one of my machines to see if the updates situation made it easier i installed it and it did a 600k update (liking already) then did a full my computer scan 3 hours later and it has scanned 1,580,548 files and no viruses found conclusion - not much, can't say that it is better than symantec because it didn't find anything that symantec missed, but that doesn't mean it is worse either just thought i'd share my experience if anyone else is deciding which to try the updating seems friendlier so i think i'll switch my server over to it too
  5. abso bloomin lutely! then one more time for good luck
  6. going out with samantha mumba? that just ain't right
  7. i really like this mr saint the weird thing is i don't know why - must be the piano sticks in my head the bit i don't like is the part where you are cutting and the piano drops out the cutting is good but i miss the piano too much! the only other bit that bugs me is the snare with the quick delay - sounds too much like a metronome to me i like it a lot
  8. if you use yousendit, check this tip i just posted about getting more downloads out of it: http://digitalvertigo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1612
  9. Don't know if you already know this but it is a neat trick When you upload something to yousendit.com, the file can be downloaded up to 25 times, and expires after a week If you use this method as the download link then it removes the 25 downloads limit (still expires after 7 days though) If the yousendit URL is "http://s6.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=XYZ" Post the link as this "http://anonym.to/?http://s6.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=XYZ" This way it thinks every download is from the same ip address so it never gets to its 25 seperate downloads limit (i think)
  10. thanks for that dl matt - like it a lot so have you ever used any'big' sequencers like reason/cubase/cakewalk/sonar etc?
  11. the bits i've heard always seem to have quite unusual samples, that's why i asked
  12. that's what i meant, real 'sampled' bass the streaming only got to about 30 secponds in total with all the gaps in between so i look forward to the downloadable one do you sample a lot of things yourself as you hear them? or do you use a big cd sample collection?
  13. sounds good, i really like real sounding bass lines can you make it downloadable though? the streaming is terrible for me
  14. sorry, just my way of saying 'you're joking' wasn't cursing you
  15. get lost, if your tracks are on fruity then you know plenty man actually fruity is probably one of the easiest progs to get a simple beat going, don't you think? i was using it real quick to do basics if you have a sample pack or 2 you can get a loop going real easy(might sound shit though) - it's expanding a loop into any kind of track that is the hard part - real hard
  16. i had a look at reason demo and shit my pants that looks fucking hard to figure out cubase ain't simple but reason was just taking the piss
  17. it's just a case of using the right software i think cool edit and sound forge are practically impossible to make any beats / loops with any tutorial would be specific to software + plugins i bet matt can do a hot one for fruity loops, i could have a go for cubase + a drum sampler plugin
  18. i wouldn't, but i've already heard it
  19. i used to use cubase / cakewalk etc years ago so it came back after a bit of perseverance i found it too hard to get a structure going in fruity loops, ie drum loop1 then drum loop 2 then add instruments then add bass etc i probably just needed to read the instructions but that's always the way
  20. true i've used it to make a few beats etc before i got used to cubase - it is very good but i could never do the tracks matt does on it, he obviously knows it very well some of the demo tracks that come with it show what can be done with it and are just unbelievable!
  21. i like the dark blue and used it for a while but most of the graphics & smilies etc seemed to have a white background so switched back in the end
