i've been getting into newer rootsy stuff over the last while.
try this - richie spice
if you like that kind of sound then look up lutan fyah, turbulence, perfect, rob symmeon
dont know much bout dancehall or dub really
-
you are getting more than with the SL1 though - it has preamps built in to the box which means the level won't be lower than normal vinyl anymore, has an auxiliary in and out, only two cables instead of 4 and comes with a power supply(finally).
also, the upgrades for serato are always free so they have to pay for this somehow
-
I can see why you'd think its daft not having the original on there, but i like it, as it means your remix will not be influenced by the original. With that one i did the other week i ended up doing it in the style of the original rather than doing it in my own style...
yeah thats pretty much it

we deliberately didnt post the complete original track cos we don't want people sending in re-edits. if you want to hear it download the zip of all the elements and open in a multitrack and listen to a stripped down version
-
links to the elements from the track down the bottom

howdy tech folks,
my mac was stolen at the weekend so have to get a new one. it was a g4 a few years old that i bought second hand.
i know nowt about computers but i saw this ad for a macbook air and was wondering does anyone know will this be able to run serato and pro-tools together? seems like a good deal
he is offering a macbook air with external superdrive for €1000 which is £814
"absolutely perfect condition. 1.6 ghz 80 gb hard drive. Battery only has 60 cycles. boxes disks manuals everything included. It was bought in may and still has warranty until next year. It was bought in new york and cost me 1850 dollars. Reason for sale is that i am going to buy an ssd version in new york this month. It will be available from 14th november after i transfer all my information over."
cheers in advance

i'd be interested but i don't really get many good gigs...what sort of stuff do you play music wise?
hip-hop,funk soul,reggae etc
il get you a gig in dublin paddy,i know this guy P-AH who does gigs,
il holla at him for you
-
would anyone on here in the uk who gigs regularly be into doing a 'you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours' sort of thing and get each other gigs in their town? obviously i wouldn't be able to get flights paid for to dublin but if you got a cheapo one the gig would cover expenses and i'd get you a bed/couch. pm me motherfuckers
-
cheers guys. yeah heard the serato one isnt too accurate so ill try that other one. thanks
-
anyone know where i can d/l a good one?
-
really enjoying this. nice one

yeah i have this mixer as well and that review is spot on
"The only real issue I have is that I feel the fader is possibly too light for a heavy handed scratch DJ like me, and when juggling, there is the possibility of bouncing the fader off the housing and accidentally bringing the other channel in, though you adapt your technique over time to compensate for this. And this is absolutely down to personal preference; it may well be the perfect fader for some people."
completely true. for me i find i don't have much control on the fader as it is so light but others love it. my only real gripe with the mixer it is the range of the eqs. can't remember it the db offhand but it isn't near a complete cut . you really notice the difference comparing it to a pioneer or even a rane.
if anyone wants to buy it i will sell it cheap. pm me

howdy,
haven't been around these parts in a while but had a question i thought someone here might be able to help with. i recently transferred a load of music to my mac from my pc via an external hard drive but when i copied the tracks from the hard drive to mac about half of them come up on my mac's itunes with just the track name and no other info, even though they all have full artist names & album info etc on the pc as they were all imported from cd.
any ideas how i can transfer them without this happening? what i did before was just copying the itunes music folder from pc onto hard drive then dragging the albums etc i wanted off the hard dive onto my mac.
what i find very confusing is that half of them are fine. since it's a few thousand tracks i cant exactly go through them manually and change it.
thanks in advance for any help!
