  1. ...also working on a cut over this beat my boy made a while back... i got 16 bars on that shit already - working on scratch hook - and hopefully my cousin will match my 16 with the same intensity or i will have to delete his life from the track.

will post that as well once it's finished.

a dirty disco mix once my latest purchases arrive from turntablelab. :d  :d  :d

tell me you didnt order records from ttlab...

  2. Multi-Track/Live (combo) Mixtape (CD actually but i am making myself a tape as i do have both in my vehicle) for the girl of my dreams... being a dj and all the only way i can get into her head when she's not in my presence is with my music. dangerous. scary part about the whole thing is rejection but my gut feeling says she digs me!! lol.

..i'll post the file once it's done bitches!!!

  3. rule of thumb.

if they dont mix, dont mix them.

pull out all the tricks. Echo fade a song out. * Hit the brakes. Do that erre erre errrr - hit the power switch off - and start the next song (can you tell i use 1200's yet?_). my other favorite is scratching in the next song during the 'break' - and just releasing the song with the fader on that channel.

be creative dub. you are far to talented to let that shit get in your way.

    good luck

    * my brakes have the looooooong drag so this is always the easy way out for me. take advantage of all your equipment and it's features. My DN-S5000 allows me to either looooong drag - short drag - or even use echo effects... at the click of a button. i love that machine...

  4. dood. just about every thread on this board gets 'hijacked' at one point or another.. but that was courteous of you. yooooure suuuuuch a gentleman. lol

well.. i bought turntables to scratch primarily... but i get a solid stiff one by just mixing alone so i dont know. i guess i'm just special. :49_49: in a geeky sorta way..

  5. i was nervous when i started playin' out, but the extra adrenalin sped my cuts up like fuck so i soon settled in...

    agreed.

the exception is an off day.. ive had some off days when i cant click anything right.. seeing as how i am a mix dj i like to build my momentum up by just mixing and trick mixing - that usually builds my confidence and gets the adrenaline pumping that i need to pull off the scratching..

  6. i attack that shit more fierce when i'm drunk... i practice more often now than before...

it use to be 2 or 3 times a week.. i had my decks down for a huge minute both of them... lately i've been going about 15-20 minutes a day.

i do much better with someone in the room listening to me.. i focus more and pull out all the tricks.. that's the only time i remember everything i can do...

  7. i think your chirps may start to suck because you neglect them Mixo. i personally find the chirp to be my favorite cuts and the faster i can do the them the cooler they keep sounding. try a flare chirp this will keep your skills on point in both depts.... i do admit when i started learning the single click flare i totally fell off in every dept.. my 2 clicks even sounded like shit... practice cures all bad scratches.

  8. i've done that before... it's the contacts with in the cartridge itself.

inside the cartridge there is 4 contacts on each side, these contacts can be unintentionally forced 'inward' and obstruct the diamond shaped opening in the cartridge itself.

that could be the problem.. i took a thin object and pushed them or the one in particular - 'outwards' in attempt to flatten it out and was able to slide the styli back in again.

these contacts are what the aluminum piece of the stylus conduct the actual vibrations through en route to making 'sound'...

  9. no shit... the aaaah in the deck i used was fucking annoying as well. hmm... that's interesting. Mix, are you going digital on us? :'(

i'm still fucking with the DNS-5000... it's fucking sick as fuck.. i'll get a file up for you next week to give you an idea of what you can do with just one. it's sorta like scratching a 45 - and i had to go back to my 500's to develop an even lighter touch while scratching.

  10. dub... my only gripe was that the vynil was too heavy for my liking.... i have discovered that there is an adjustable screw that allows you to either loosen or tighten it up a bit. so i guess it's flawless...

did you experience any digital delay while scribbling? the model i used had a very slight delay but i think it was the CD in the drive, not the unit itself...
