  1. 88 keys. Must be weighted. If you want any of your skills transfer to a piano, this is what you want.
  2. DMX is my biggest one. The Pack. Consequence. Percee P promised me one as did Illogic, i just need to call them up whenever I need it.
  3. Just curious if anyone has had any experience w/ this? My boy upgraded to vista the other week. We used to watch movies on his laptop all the time, but after vista, it fucked up all his drivers, the video would play while the sound would cut out, there'd be weird crackles and pops n shit. I'm a little dubious about vista still, anyone have any insights?
  4. No question. So bad they were good. If you can't even do a consistent baby scratch without losing the beginning of the sample after 10 years of cutting, you deserve some kind of award. My favourite Moe Love solo: - Moe.mp3 That is the infamous "move the record and fader frantically" scratch, one of my personal favorites. I'm not much good at it, but there's a guy I know who is sick widdit.
  5. Word, you guys sucks pretty bad.... Jk, *mwahz*
  6. I agree, they had good footage, but the whole movie was practically show with a handy cam and edited in Microsoft Movie Maker. Kinda pathetic for a "independent film"
  7. If I ever visit london we'll have to skip down the street like school girls and hold hands
  8. I agree there are rappers that get worse over time, but there are others that were simply never good i.e. Lloyd Banks, Jim Jones, Diddy, etc. If you're making a list of worst rappers, I think there's more than enough to choose from without picking guys that were once good, nahmean?
  9. I think the top 10 worst MCs can't possibly be complete without Lloyd Banks. Absolute utter garbage, Fiddy sounds like Biggie in comparison to Lloyd Banks (Although I'd argue fiddy isn't as bad as people say he is). Also, if any member of dipset belongs on that list its definately Jim Jones, not Juelz. Juelz is someone who I have mixed feelings about like Lil Wayne. Sometimes I think he's complete garbage, but occasionally he impresses just enough to make me think that maybe he's a master in disguise. In any case, the real "secret" behind Dipset is their undeniable swagger that can only be compared to cats like Luda or The Clipse. Likewise, I have mixed feeling about Kanye (as menioned above). I used to think he was horrible beyond belief, but now I think that if he was on Rhymesayers or Def Jux or some other indy label where people profit from sounding different even if its painful to the ears, everyone would be on his nuts like "This dude Kanye is crazy, his flow is totaly different." At the very least, Kanye's flow is different from anyone else's and he does say some pretty funny/memorable/insightful things at times.
  10. You ever listen to doggystyle?
  11. yeah and 50 cent, the game, eminem. could become a very long list! Another kid who judges the quality of music by sales volume. How can you POSSIBLY rate The Game as 1 of the top 10 WORST lyricists out there??? Seriously, do you even listen to rap or do you just read rap magazines? I can understand if you don't like his content, but The Game is one of the best mainstream lyricists out there right now. This of course if just my opinion, but I can probably get you 1,000,000 more that would argue that he's not anywhere near the top 10 worst. Also, Eminem is one of the worst? I'm not a big fan of the guy, but he's a scribble jam champion (or at least finalist), so how can someone that makes it to the final round of the most respected MC battle in the world be amongst the top 10 worst MCs? That's not even mentioning that he was recruited by Dr. Dre, who is one of the biggest perfectionists in the music industry, and the fact that most MCs I know, black and white, have a ton of respect for him as a lyricist. I usually try to be respectful of other peoples' opinions, but I don't think what you wrote is even an opinion, not your own at least. Maybe its the opinion of another equally jaded music blogger out there, but if you actually listen to rap, I doubt it can be yours. Needed to put that out on the table...
  12. can anybody offer some insights on shoe lace modding?do only some shoes look good w/ fat laces & not others?
  13. looking at the pictures at face level, they look well done. but reading the captions is quite heavy.
  14. Another question, what are "library breaks" or "library records," which you mentioned earlier? I was first introduced to the term on soulstrut a while back, but when trying to understand, I couldn't get a decent, non-esoteric, non-assholic answer. Such are the ways of soulstrutters...
  15. I was actually kind of thinking that, like roughly getting the pitches and then just moving the 2nd tune so it matches up well with the first snares of the outgoing tune. People take non-flashy, but effective stuff for granted, i.e. "if its not a 50 click flare, its easy," but I usually listen for stuff like that where it sounds simple but I can tell there was a lot of thought in it. Absolutely beautiful once again. If you make another I wouldn't hold it against you
  16. This was absolutely amazing. I don't even know how to describe the music that this mix consists of, but its probably my overall favorite genre. Can you please post a tracklist, I need to be schooled badly. Also, this may be sort of a dumb question, i know the answer when mixing hip hop n shit, but when you're mixing very organic music like this, how do you get the mixes not to sound abrupt, not clashing, and more less on beat? Simple fader slamming will not accomplish that because you'll usually either get a clash or an abrupt disruption.
  17. biggie could seriously SLAY MCs. I can't wait for the first backpacker to say something like "biggie wasn't that great." Biggie would rip 75 assholes in any backpack mc. I wish biggie & Big L were still alive. I think Jay-Z would be hotter too if they were still around. Nas would never make "hip hop is dead"
  18. After watching this video for 9 minutes, i can tell you that it is definitely one of the worst made I have ever seen. I know people here at my university that can make better videos.
  19. You'd be surprised how much stuff is out there if you dig deeply. Word on the street is that countrys have been told by The US n UK "You better not say anything untill we say it's allright".... But Mexico just seem to be putting shit out regardless. http://worldtradestv.blogspot.com/2007/03/...e-for-nasa.html I'm sorry, but why in HELL would they choose DAN AKROYD to host this?!?!?!?!?! That's like asking steven hawking to host the superbowl, LMFAO!!! Yes, blues brothers = extra terrestrial credibility.
  20. Debbi Deb - When I Hear Music Eurythmics - Sweat Dreams New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle Soft Cell - Tainted Love
  21. dude I like the words on pt II so much more. When he says "ill do you one betta and slay these niggas faithfuly" it almost makes me wanna shed a tear. Actually, pt II is a really powerful song, IMO, not to say that the OG is bad at all. Ain't no nigga is a dope cut too. That's one of those songs where I'd have to consider playing the clean version depending on the crowd haha
