  1. We still rock that 79 Sigma mix once in while on our Tuesday's poker session. And I always brag that I know the cunt who put together that beautiful mix
  2. @cutdisco it was in Biel/Bienne (Switzerland) in the Coupole (lots of real Hip-Hop-Jams took place there)
  3. I've read that alomost 80% of the time, the internet is accessed via mobile phone. Crazy if you ask me. It gives me eyecancer if I have to access the internet via mobile. Plus I got huge hands, which makes it difficult to write. To me accessing the internet via mobile is a step backwards from that point of view. Plus the fact that you get captured too much (like when you watch tv and don't see the time flying by) in this unreal reality is too much for me (I work in IT...so I consume very little internet after work), since you can carry that fucker with you all the time (I sometimes leave it at home, when going out...ah the freedom). Also it's a great pain in the ass, meeting with people who are constantly controlling their mobile phones and/or answer calls/write a tweet etc. I find this very unpersonal and rude towards the others (at least an excuse is mandatory when interrupting the community). My time in the internet is with the following devices: 70% via Desktop or Laptop computer 20% via iPad 10% with the eyecancer-giving device called mobile phone What's your precentage?

  5. The 909s aux-send/return is not bad, but also not perfect (if ever there's a scratch-mixer out there that is perfect in combination with a looper let me know). One thing that's dope on the 909 aux-return is, that it converts a mono-signal to stereo when only the left is connected on the aux-return. But otherwise I prefer the aux-send/return of the Rane TTM-56
  6. If you go second-hand I'd buy a Pdx-2000. The TTX are also very nice (never had to babysit the pitch of mine while mixing), but mine started to stick on the coating, which sucks. If you go for new ones I'd go with Reloop (the 8000mk2 is sexy) or with Mixar (if you don't need all them fancy midi-buttons). Personally I prefer the SL-1210 MKII for mixing, the PDX-2000 and the TTX for scratching and the CunTrollerOne for producing and fancy social-media fotos
  7. The 380 was almost perfect if you liked the fader and eq-layout. Only downer was the aux-send/return as it is the case with many scratch mixers.
  8. It's a little bit slow for me again over here at work this morning...
  9. Never been a fan of the HAK-series but really like the NUO-series. Let's hope for a real comeback!
  10. Must resist the inner gearslut of mine (that bitch is mad addicted to buying gear)...
  11. It sure is fishy. They cater towards their "content"-creator and not the actual viewers it seems. Me personally I don't pay attention at all to likes/dislikes, subs and especially comments of YouTube-videos (too time-consuming IMO). Wasn't YouTube starting as a dating-portal first? Anyways I hope they change it back as your explanation makes totally sense.
  12. The routing of the signal/s should be freely assignable. Some Reason-like digital control section, where you could change the routing of the different signal. It could open possibilities with modular, external effect, loopmachines, recording mixes where each channel is seperatly recorded with the faderclicks etc. Not sure if this is allready establish. I still "only" rock my TTM57sl with SSL and mostly prefer to stay on vinyl (prefer my pio909 and rodecScratchBox compared to these new-school mixers and since I got SL2 I can use them too for DVS)...
  13. Video-Games: Stopped buying a console for a long time after the Gamecube...then my wife bought the 1st Wii (ZUMBA!!!) Mobile-Phones: I always inherit my wifes iPhones (as she always buys the newest iPhone once it drops). PC: I always got a good laptop (mostly a former work-laptop...as they tend to replace our gear quite fast at work). But all my other PCs are still running on X to the mf P (SP3) as I don't use them for browsing the intanet I wouldn't mind always having the newest and coolest...but my kids tend to use my stuff too...
  14. R.I.P. Lee "Scratch" Perry. You will be missed
  15. I got Ragz break record (it's dope) and I still sport my Sewer Slimes!
  16. R.I.P. Biz. He was unique and will be missed
  17. R.I.P. Paragraph President I listen to Blackalicious on the regular. Damn only 50 years old...
  18. My brother has one of these JVC tubeish Boomboxes. He bought it in the last millenium and that thing is still working and sounding like a charm. They still make them (more updated versions) although I think the aux-in is only mono (for mic or guitar).
  19. Looks dope!!! Speaking of which...how's your new toilette-bidet-combo?
  20. The grey ones were first and then came the black version. We've had a dark blue set once (that was only a limited run I believe). MixMasterMike got a pair of transparent pdx's from vestax. Really love that turntable...
  21. R.I.P. He sure did bring a lot of joy to my life with his music and will be missed
  22. Perfectly d'accord with you Jam. So that Scratch Composition hors d'oeuvre called Phantazmagorea was performed live by the Scratch Performers (the Ruck used to have an article about that on Asis) of the Beatjunkies and the Scratch-Composer/Performer D-Styles. Turntablism in that sense isen't even aboard. Doesn't mean that Turntablist cannot be Scratch-Composers and/or Scratch Performers...
  23. To me turntablism is all live performed music via a scratchmixer, turntable and vinyl, no multitrack (like Faust on his LP) and/or using beats made on a sampler (like Wavetwister). So maybee Invasion of the Octopus people was the 1st track and the beatjunkies live performance of Ds Phantazmagorea LP (which was produced with multitracks) must be the first album entirely performed live (outside of battling)...if my interpretation would count and my gibbergabber would make any sense...
