  1. What a format! Such a shame they didn't take off like they should have done.... I still have my SHARP personal minidisc player, such a great wee device.
  2. Killer instinct!!! Great game!!! the snes port worked / translated very well indeed to the nintendo - got a boxed copy, but its pretty beaten up unfortunately....the snes is a sucker to collect for these days with the games being in cardboard boxes (same as n64 too) games are mad expensive to get, in good shape... MK3 is also a great game.... i have the whole series on the megadrive, the MK series were wayyy better on sega - nintendo (being pussies) always censored shit on the home systems, which was lame as fuck and completely pointless
  3. yeh....being a retro game collector i love my old fighting games, but nothing too new really. there were some great ones on PS1, but thats as new as i get really lol... Bloody Roar and Rival Schools on PS1 are underrated and were overshadowed by lots of the bigger titles at the time, but worth playing if your into that era. Not sure if ive posted any of these here before....but i got the SNES SF2 cartridge reissue a few years back - 5500 made, 1000 in limited glow in the dark green colour, the rest in red....pretty cool. ive left mine sealed as ive got boxed copies of every Streetfighter 2 / turbo / super etc, so i dont really need to open it. also got some other cool bits fighting game wise....in particular SF2. I got a dude to custom build me a raspberry pi 2 player arcade control, i designed the CP layout in the same style as the OG upright machine....doesnt work as well as it should, but it looks good on my bookshelf lol still got my original boxed snes with SF2 pack in...and the 6 button fighter stick too
  4. definitely used to be all i gave a fuck about.....but these days, im not as single minded.... i still love music very, very much - and i still love hip hop the most tbh, but as far as "practicing the artform" - not so much at all anymore... having ran a studio for a decade, practiced DJing religiously since the early nineties til about 2007, and produced material for donkeys.... its kinda something ive done to death and lost the love for a bit......i guess ive lost the inspiration... and / or need to? looking back - it was always something cathartic for me and was definitely a means of combating depression and down times over the years, as well as something i was good at and enjoyed (one and the same thing, i guess). having moved to the other side of the world 7 years ago, by default, it changed pretty much everything - it definitely put my production to a complete standstill, as i had to sell most of the studios equipment at the time, and put a lot of my personal stuff into storage in the UK...which is where its stayed.....but making that move also reinvigorated my days DJing out again, which was cool and kept my head in the game somewhat. i haven't played anywhere out for a couple of years now though, and i'm not really that bothered if i don't unless something appropriate comes along. id love to get back into production again in the future - ive got a lot more ideas now and have been exposed to loads of different influences since ive been in NZ, so im fairly sure id be able to go back to it with a totally fresh mindset and goal if i was ever to manage to kick it off again. im so fucking busy these days with my business its hard to get the brain space to think about much else?! that said, im making some decent money for once in my life, so i think the sacrifice of creativity for the dollars is worth it - for the time being, at least!
  5. thanks for the all additional input... its dont necessarily want to get an out and out audio computer either....but i DO want to use it for that as well.... i produce music on cubase, so it really has to be windows, coupled with all the win vsts that i use etc, im unsure whether mac has those available - that, and the work flow im used to is just so different on mac... cheers guys
  6. sweet - cheers, ill have a look at XPS series properly then. first glance they seem quite expensive...which is prob a sign theyre solid tbh. mine was 1500 bucks...the xps 15 i7 is 4000, so its definitely going to be step up for sure....id be happy spending top dollar on something thats going to be good
  7. Ayo! My current laptop (ASPIRE V 15 - V3-572G-79zs) is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.....and its really making my life difficult - i just want rid of it. sooo, I'm after a new one! I'm not at all fond of laptops in general, but i simply don't have the space for a tower here, and its also not practical for what i actually need it for, so I'm kinda stuck with getting another one (ffs) I basically need / don't need the following: be as quick as humanly fucking possible - able to run pretty demanding programs (cubase and photoshop in particular) I'm not PC gamer...and im unlikely to start being one, so don't really need a top / gaming graphics card, 1TB storage is prob enough, but maybe useful for extra i guess, decent battery life (will mostly use it plugged in) also doesn't matter if its heavy / bulky....i'm really concerned with top performance, over anything else. Ive been out of the game in terms of anything computer related for ages - back in the UK when i had the studio, we used to have a computer company, based in the same building - he was my go to for advice and recommends - and built every studio PC we had (including all our own home ones actually), but that was over 10 years ago, and things have most certainly moved on........and i also live in another country entirely.......so i have no idea whats what anymore!! I'e been looking at reviews of shit online, but i find PC reviews to be often disingenuous somehow - on paper specs vs real life performance seem to be entirely different things....my current PC has "ok specs" (or did at the time) but it performs like a meandering tortoise on tramadol.....its slow as fuck and it thinks about the simplest of tasks for such an infuriating length of time...i'm actually sick to death of it... any ideas or recommendations anyone might have, would be welcome considerations!! has to be PC btw - I cant hack the Mac!!!
  8. sweet - liked the subtlety also, nice job
  9. hes definitely gone quiet with his facebook gayme..... still so funny....i love his defense on his "rebuttle" video.....or should i say....re-butt-hole video.
  10. dope video man....any idea on how much is shipping to nz
  11. just checked a couple of these tracks - really dope!! definitely some really solid production.
  12. myself and dj knocept having a bit of a lazy sunday session..... ....including terrible sound quality AND moving mixers! hehe pretty sloppy, but theres a couple of decent bits
  13. Also Chris - I'm not sure what you already have... But there are some games that you can still pick up for MD that are well priced, that are likely to increase in value... I can give u some heads up if ur keen, just send me a pm or Facebook me or whatever. There's certain revisions of popular games as well that are more rare than others and even certain megadrive revisions which are more in demand and collectable than others too. Some sellers don't know what they have, especially on ebay - gotta be quick off the draw and check listing's regularly and your set!
  14. Tell me about it! They've probably peaked, yes... But you never know. Musha and also alien soldier are going for mad dollars - keep going up each time I check... I actually can't warrant spending that sort of money to get those last few games I want... Just seems mad. I also have a MASSIVE star wars toy collection - had to pay through the nose for a few remaining ones - I have the whole collection bar 4 really rare ones, which again, I refuse to pay for...I've got well over 400 figures, there was only 187 in the whole range, but I've got plenty of duplicates lol They were worth a bit more than they are now, but I'll still keep hold of them cos I don't think they'll ever drop too far - especially with the release of new movies and spin off's and the like. I should really document the rest of my collections when I go back to the UK this year... As they're all in storage until I finally can get somewhere to live that's a bit more permanent, but it's cool yo be able to look over them from time to time.
  15. Robocod is most certainly in my collection... It might not be pictured, but I think it is. There's a load of games I didn't play first time around that are amazing - rocket knight adventures, ristar and dynamite headdy are all dope platforms which passed me by back in the day. Shinobi 3 is also prob the best platform game ever made imo. If you've not played any of those titles... Crack out an emulator and try them for yourself... The sf2 stick is a custom built raspberry pi controller with hdmi out. Full on dual set up... Designed the vinyl wrap myself based on the original cabinet. Looks dope
  16. Haha.. I have PLENTY of other collections if you want to continue their anguish... Lol. I've noticed that the PS 1 consoles have risen in second hand prices pretty dramatically of late, you could pick up one for about £5 a short while back but now every time I see one now they are £20 minimum..i also saw the first PS Crash Bandicoot game the other day in a shop for £28 ! I'm glad I kept the two PS 1 consoles and all of the games I bought for the kids when they were smaller cause I was thinking about just giving them away tbh. We've got a couple of Dreamcast machines here that are in great condition and the kids absolutely love the games for those and we also grabbed one of the new Sega reissue things and an Atari Flashback for a decent price . It's great to see the kids getting into the retro side of gaming although I managed to convince my youngest that he definitely needs a PS 4 this Xmas. The new Red Dead Redemption is coming out next spring...ahem. The dream cast was dope... I never had one as a yout... But it had some decent titles!! Ps one will likely go the same way as the others over the next few years, prices will rise... Some of then are already going for loads - kula world for one is very expensive already. Ps one is similar to megadrive in the fact that they have a hard case...snes is a nightmare with card boxes... Hence the price is reflective of that for mint, complete titles. I have a boxed ps one, no games, as my console was chipped lol.
  17. Cheers! Took a while to get there... Prices have sky rocketed since I last bought anything, I'm glad I'm not collecting these days! I bought Musha Aleste for 50 quid, now goes for about 200, which is crazy. I managed to get most of my megadrive collection from private sellers and also latterly on ebay for about 2 to 3 quid each....some more rare ones, I had to pay a bit more for, obviously. I picked up most of it for next to nothing from 2001 to 2012. Havnt bought anything since I moved country tho. My snes collection is much smaller, but pretty tight. I've recently pre ordered the snes sf2 cart re release too... Not sure if you have seen that? Looks dope! https://www.google.co.nz/amp/s/www.polygon.com/platform/amp/2017/8/30/16230658/street-fighter-2-snes-cartridge-rerelease-capcom-iam8bit
  18. Haha.. I have PLENTY of other collections if you want to continue their anguish...
  19. a few better shots here of some of the megadrive games...
