    😂

despite the barrage / torrent of abuse he got on his webpage from all over the globe, I had the pleasure of being singled out by good old George Smooth and blocked from interacting on his Facebook page lol

one of his family members had commented how "they were really proud of him" ….and all I said was,  "you really shouldn't be."

guess it must have hit a nerve?

  2. id say my natural / innate ability is quite high and my ability to learn things by practice, quite low.

I don't think I've ever actually learnt any scratches by instructions or tutorials - I find it almost impossible to learn in that way tbh

I use the decks once in a blue moon these days, but still scratch maybe once a week for a little while just for fun - I've not learnt any "new" cuts for well over 15 years tho, so am absolutely plateaued at the point I'm at with no sign of improving / developing at all

  3. it really depends - I like to have a good enough phone to do what I need on - I rely on this for my work (opposed to a PC cos I'm largely out and about on the road) so that's gotta be good enough and powerful enoug

everything else....im a verhy, very late adopter - because I like to get a bargain haha

  4. Yo - so i picked up a Rane 57 a little while ago - it was sold as broken, as it wouldn't connect to his serato - I took a gamble on it, cos I thought he might be trying to hook it up to SERATO DJ, opposed to scratch live.

Anyway - I got it home and it worked fine for a few weeks (i was just using it with vinyl opposed to serato) but then it stopped working

I've trawled the net to see if there's any forum posts, videos or similar with the same problem, but haven't come up with anything - someone has suggested its a fucked motherboard, but I thought id try and get a second opinion here before I decide what to do with it.

The only action I get is a lit up B2 button, which then scrolls through B2 > B3 > B1 group buttons.....then back to B2.

Nothing else works, no sound, no input, no nothing apart from the scrolling, lit up Bs.

    Any ideas?

I've recently been eyeing up parts for a new build, even though I can't afford one, lol.

I think the AMD 5900X is a good CPU choice. I haven't had an AMD build for 15+ years, but in the last couple of years they've become really competitive with Intel again. It's a 12 core/24 thread CPU that also has great single core performance at a price that isn't too crazy (£450-£500 in the UK).

As for the rest, there's so much choice that it's hard to say what to go for really. Obviously you would want an NVMe SSD, at least to run the OS and some applications from, but I couldn't really say "go for this RAM, this MOBO" etc.

nice one....well that's a start for me, cheers ill have a gander :)

  6. Yo yall

So I'm gonna get a new Desktop PC - largely for creative projects - its likely ill mainly be using it for music production and design work but would also likely be doing some bits and bats of simple video editing - software wise, Ill basically need something to run Cubase and a range of Adobe packages - and that's probably that.

Last time I got a desktop (which was about 15 years ago), I had a contact who ran a computer company and he basically built me one to spec, given his recommendations within a price bracket for each bit, so I didn't even have to really think about it - so I'm absolutely and completely out of touch with what people are running these days, or which manufacturers for certain components are recommended etc.

I'd really appreciate any recommendations for me to look at or suggestions for what kinda of specs Id need - historically I've had better PCs custom built, as opposed to buying one "off the shelf" -  I definitely don't want anything entry / mid range level and id be happy spending a bit on something to get it right... but things have moved on a lot since I've done this process, so def need some ideas …if anyone can help me get started, that'd be wicked :)

    cheers!

This seems to be the current premium choice: -

I would love a setup like that, but it's over £2,000 and I live in an end terrace house with thin walls, so my neighbours likely wouldn't be a fan.

    TWO GRAND?!?!

    fuck that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jesus......im still very much a cheapskate yorkshire cunt, tbf - but fuckin ell - 2 grand!!! I'm sure its absolutely brilliant mind you.....

I bought a second hand 50 quid panasonic hifi set up for my gaming TV - I'm more than happy with that (maybe im really easily pleased lol)

  8. I've got one of these logitech speaker sets

Logitech Z623 Speaker System 2.1 2.1 Stereo Speakers

I rescued this from my old office when it closed down years ago and its been plugged into my TV since - very loud and very bassy - if you need it to be.

Perfect for watching movies and has a really surprising clarity and output - id personally always go for something like this over a soundbar, since you can split the speakers up and place them around and about.

Anyone had much to do with the Pioneers? Sound like the PLX500 could be a decent one?

ive had a good go on the pioneer plx 1000 decks - - theyre ok....they seemed to skip a shit tonne mind you...no matter what i did to try and stop them doing so.

apparently, theyre also not the best in terms of build quality internally...so id be wary of them long term

  10. im also looking at a new turntable as well....I've got two old model 1 pdx here, and they still work....but the audio connections are a bit sketchy (intermittent signals - have tried to resolder dry joints on the connections inside, but to no avail in sorting this issue).

there was at one point it seemed, a lot of different super OEM tables floating about....but they've all but disappeared here and the only options I have locally are the reloops, pioneers and technics.

Id love a tech again, but the lack of ultrapitch makes it not really an option for me

I have heard good things about the reloops though - they don't seem toooo expensive....especially if you consider it a long term - 10-15 year purachse or whatever.

anyone know much about these -
