    An Anbernic RG35XX Plus: -

    2uYAalW.jpeg

It's styled like a Gameboy. It has a 3.5" IPS screen, 2 microSD card slots, 4 rear paddles, USB-C charging, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI out, vibration motors, and a 3,300 mAh battery that lasts around 8 hours. You can pick one up for around $65.

You can wirelessly stream games from PC to it, and if you have a friend who has one, you can pair them up wirelessly and play certain 2 player games.

It supports a ton of different systems up to and including PSP, such as NES, SNES, Megadrive/Genesis, GBA, MAME, PS1, PC Engine, and about 10 more. The version I bought comes with 5,000 games on a 64GB microSD card.

There are a couple of negatives to it. The microSD card(s) that come with it are supposedly awful quality and won't last long, so you'll need to purchase 1 or 2 better microSD cards for it. Also, the OS isn't the best, however, there are a couple of other operating systems you can install on it, including one called GarlicOS which seems highly rated, so I'll have a tinker around and install that at some point.

    very nice!!!

i had one of the first portables like this - i think it was by "LDK" (the one i had wouldn't even run ps1 properly from memory, i ended up gifting it to my mate who left travelling)

the Anbernic handhelds def seem to be up there in terms of capabilities etc, theres new devices seemingly made every few months - its a difficult space to keep up with actually

I've been considering also getting a new one, there's so many options now and loads look really amazing....i was watching a youtube video on some of the forthcoming models just yesterday

Good shit, Ed. Is someone gonna rhyme over it?

I edited your post to embed the player.

Cheers! Nah gonna keep this as an instrumental... But i guess if someone wanted to rhyme on it i could rework it 😂

Just trying to get the past years worth of work uploaded and drawn a line under really rather than do any collabs etc at this point.

That's pretty cool that it has zero emulation.

yeh - i mean, technically, the system itself is emulated through FPGA, but the software isnt emulated...but its identical to the original. so much so, these are allowed in speed runs and the like.

theyre amazing bits of kit in fairness, especially if youre a hardcore 16bit fan like myself.

Thought i had posted on here about what game systems I should setup when I revamped my TV room but can't find it so maybe not. Anyways, Had lots of options but went with Atari 7800, SNES, Xbone S and WiiU. Have a Wii and PS4 setup in my office. Leaving the odd men out: PS3, NES, Sega Master System, C64. PS3 I'm sad isn't setup. That's a fun system. NES is dope but can be a pain to get the games to play.

    nice!!

ive just bought an Analogue super NT actually - ive not set it up yet, but i also have the mega SG and have for years, so it will basically be the same as that - theyre really amazing tbf - if not a little pricey, that said, its probably the last set up ill ever need for playing snes....so its worth it to me :)

they did a final production run of these, which i managed to grab one of :) if youre not aware - heres a link -

I was scratching on one of these hi-fi systems with one speaker unplugged, so the balance slider worked as a fader, along with a paper slipmat, which goes some way to explaining why the cuts are wank, haha: -

LOL!!! thats EXACTLY how i started scratching too - did that for about 3 years before i got to have a go on an actual turntable - not a bad effort tbf - i know how difficult it is to do ;)

  7. so the first track of a good handful is about to start hitting streaming platforms from august.

if anyone would like to support the first single - do me a solid and do the spotify pre save link below, for when it goes live!

it all helps the algorithm get "activated" as it puts the track into your feed when its available....gonna need all the help I can get and every pre save counts lol :)

Ill be putting both the vocal and instrumental versions on bandcamp on the same day...(name ya price / free download) :)

Dope! How did you end up working with this guy?

Yeh, pretty cool to be doing stuff again!!

He originally reached out to me in 2001 or 2002 after he heard something I did online - there's a funny story around this (and i wont type it out or discuss it here haha) but I thought it was someone taking the piss at the time, so i kinda responded in a way i thought fit the joke....turns out, it was legit lol ;)

We've periodically done bits and pieces since - this is the first lot of projects for a long time mind you. its been good timing as I've just had 3 months off working, so have managed to do 4 or 5 things with him over this period...its cool cos he understands what he wants in the scratches and has a fair amount of input into it, which can work out really well. he also appreciates the old skool flavour and always wants to keep the cuts simple - which suits me tbh as i prefer that sound myself, on hip hop tracks like these, at least.

Also done some cuts for the introduction music / "theme" for this podcast too - hosted by J-Dee (Da Lench Mob) and co-hosted by Dazzie Dee and SoChuckified.

Its actually going live in 3 days from now on the 19/07 - its going on Channel Zero, which is Chuck D's / PE's official youtube channel :) ill post it up when its gone online ;)
