  1. Ghost Of Tsushima on PS4 and Mr Driller on Switch
  2. I'll be going for PS5 - but probably waiting until there's enough games that I'd want to play first.
  3. Hi all, It just dawned on me that I've not shared this here yet. Every Sunday since lockdown began, Vekked and I have been hosting a weekly livestream at 7pm GMT / 2pm ET talking about turntablist history: showing routine videos, breaking them down from an educational standpoint in terms of what we think are dope about them and also their significance in terms of innovation. http://twitch.tv/djjon1st This week we're talking about 90s battle routines from the USA and we're also using the platform to raise funds for the NAACP Legal Defence Fund, a civil rights law organization fighting for racial justice through litigation, advocacy, & public education, and the gofund me for DJ Kico, who needs assistance covering medical bills for a ruptured appendix last month. Expect to hear us talking about The X-Ecutioners, The Beat Junkies, Craze & The Allies, P-Trix, Slyce, Swift Rock + many more and their unprecedented influence on the global turntablist culture. We've had issues with recording these for archiving but we're slowly uploading them to my mixcloud , with more in due course: http://mixcloud.com/jon1st Biggup Jon
  4. Easy all. I did cuts and FX for a track by BSN Posse from Spain recently and it came out on vinyl last Friday. It got played on Radio One and Boiler Room over the weekend, huzzah! https://bsnposse.bandcamp.com/album/rituals-ep It's track 2
  5. hyped for this - it's been made by the team who made the recent crash bandicoot/spyro remakes. the team who made the last few tony hawk games were just rushing out product as cash grab before their license expired so it's good to see someone else take the reigns.
  6. Super Mario Odyssey is typical Nintendo greatness. Obviously the reviews tell you that. I did my usual, bought it, played it a bit then got distracted with life. A couple of years later, both kids are old enough to play it and got addicted. They needed quite a bit of help so I ended up completing it with them. So much cool stuff to do and if you are a crazy completionist there's a lot extra to keep you amused. yeah my wife has been playing mario odyssey non stop for the past 2 weeks. shes on the last level now and pissed that she is about to beat the game. I've just hit 250 moons so am doing the 'dark side of the moon' boss battles - it seems like there's so much to do in this - i like how each challenge is quite short too, easy to pick up and play
  7. 05 - It was such a stacked battle. If muzzle nailed his set that night he may have been fighting for that top place too. Talking about solos ^ I think youre right about 04 supremacy Ah yeah it's 05 then. Who won 04? Merg won solos 04 and 05 but he also competed in supremacy in 04 and Akakabe won that - i think he battled pfel head to head in supremacy 04 and won , so you might be correct and i got confused

  9. Currently playing Yakuza 4 on PS4 and Mario Odyssey on Switch
  10. Youre right! Weird it didnt show for me first time then did last night
  11. think this is a usa only thing maybe
  12. I recorded a guest minute set for 20/20 LDN's new stream channel alongside AV sets from Om Unit and Mike Gao and a DJ set by Huxley Anne. My part starts 90 minutes in: https://youtu.be/xz50hqf2Xf0?t=5051
  13. April show is now online featuring a couple of Canadian producer/djs I've met on my travels:
  14. https://www.twitch.tv/djjon1st/videos <- watch back here
  15. I'm going to do a free twitch masterclass on making turntablist routines for all skill levels on Sunday at 5pm GMT / 1PM EST and general q & a for anyone interested. if you 'follow' my account you'll get a notification when it goes live: https://www.twitch.tv/djjon1st/ I'll also be taking on private lessons if anyone knows anyone who wants to sharpen up their cuts or learn some ableton stuff during the upcoming weeks
  16. There's a few people who use vinyl in the sound art /experimental music world / university sound art research scene that do performances along these lines - playing with manipulated/broken records/stickers loops/ locked grooves / weird pressings etc. Usually it's as an experiment/sound art presentation/thesis about breaking down musical/performance conventions rather than conventional music. I get it from a study point of view just like how stuff like John Cage is interesting but not a traditional listen - but yeah it's not the most enjoyable to listen to, but I guess that's also the point of it sometimes.
  17. Its beautiful - its very short (6-10 hours) but its an amazing game.
  18. Just beat the remake of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Switch - would def recommend. It's a v short game by today's standards but really beautiful and due to there being more buttons on a switch than a gameboy you can do loads more in terms of asigning items etc. Next up Yakuza HD collection and finishing Breath Of The Wild on Switch
