  1. Hahaha...well this is gonna be interesting that's for sure ...cant wait to hear what you guys will come up with from this challenge
  2. Are we allowed to recommend or make suggestions of what albums might be cool for future battles ? I was just wondering as ive got a few in mind that id love to hear you all have a go at ..
  3. This vote was rigged and I think symatic should be disqualified from all further battles .....nah only joking Sy well done mate ...hurry up and get the next one going Rock
  4. They must have been making money hand over fist for years with those battle wax albums and like Dubba says every scratch dj on the planet probably owns a scratchy seal, then think of all the doubles they must have sold on top of that cos as everyone knows you gotta have doubles ,and I remember those albums being not exactly cheap to start with, I mean I must have at least 10 of them myself and I dont even scratch, I just liked the drumbreaks they put on them but Deeswift had everything they put out and doubles at that ,thats the sort of scale it should be viewed from I think.Ive got a couple of mates who had record shops back then and they couldnt sell those lps fast enough and at 10 to 15 pounds each it doesn't take a genius to work out the mathematics, so yeah I think diggla and dubba are both spot on with their comments on thud rumble tbh
  5. That would sound even better with a (broken ) vintage flanger on it I think
  6. Wheres "blow your head" when you need it ?
  7. Yep your right there mate.. sad to say but kool & the gang went from being a very cool and tasty funk unit and turned into a very wack & plasticated funk unit,..unkool & the gang if you will.
  8. Hahaha what a brilliantly vulgar description pete lmao , I actually liked that fretless fader myself and I reckon you'd get some cool shit happening if you were to utilize some stompboxes rigged up to it im thinking of the sort of things I use myself when I amp up my acoustic guitars ,,, crybaby wah ,mxr phase 90 and a digital delay or echo ..or maybe even something like a digitech whammy pedal which takes the pitch of the octaves up and down .yeah I reckon that would be pretty rad myself dude
  9. Ah yes. nice one pete ive only just noticed you've put this up
  10. I appreciate what youre saying there broke dude,it just seems to me that $127 grand is a shitload of money for people to shell out and then to recieve nothing after two years of waiting just seems wrong ,one of kickstarters biggest problems in general appears to be a lack of transparency tbh
  11. Yes but they never seemed to encounter those type of pressing problems when they were churning out all those dirtstyle battle lps a few years back though did they ? hmmm
  12. That video of kirk is probably from "one man twins" "live at montreux jazz festival not sure what year and I dont think its on youtube anymore unfortunately which is a pity but then I would imagine they would take it down re the drug taking part lol
  13. He wont be releasing any disco numbers anytime soon though cos he's too busy practicing his beat juggling routines
  14. The pupil inevitably always surpasses the master ...but to me that Fly and Netik routine just seems more about posing and smug self aggrandizement, but then thats kinda always been the case with so many battle/scratch dj"s in my opinion, dont get me wrong I can appreciate that they have mad skills on the tables but it is way too reliant on pre production, I can understand Rob Swift"s opinions even though I think he's completely way off point and completely delusional with regards to calling himself being hip-hop royalty and all the other guff he's been spewing out,I think Dj Nocturne sums it up perfectly when they asked for his opinion in the youtube video I watched a couple of days ago when he said creativity and encouragement is the only positive thing for the scene and beef isn't good for anyone and will get you nowhere and probably just end in you getting a fucking hard smack in the mouth from somebody....wise words indeed
  15. While watching "the worlds greatest rapper " ?
  16. Yeah I saw that,no Erick Sermon and no Eric B for that matter either , that surely cant be right can it ?
  17. Ahh ! Spain ,I love the place and what its done for me, my mother in law went to live in spain 10 years ago and thankfully she's still there
  18. # 1 diggla and sean -man that was twisted but I loved the way you developed it from start to finish, it was like Disintegration era Cure in a mincer! but done in a really dope way and the way you morphed it into those almost pink floyd esq parts towards the end was dead clever # 2-Rockwell I liked this ! that synth sounds cool . again it had an almost 80s new wave feel to it. I thought it needed more bass at first but then I played it loud on my stereo and it sounded dub heavy and nice mate and like sy said it would sound good with an mc on it # 3 Symatic mate your shit is smooth but in a very sublime and cool way , really good production skills on this one..i played it loud and sounds really good. honourable mentions to Fayc and Phology but those were the 3 for me.. get another one up quick! that was a wicked battle guys
