  1. So here is my Pt-01 start/stop button mod thanks to everyone here for giving me the confidence to go ahead I have done a simple 10 step guide I tried to make it as clear as possible for anyone who like me might be a bit scared to try this. I have never done any work on any kind of electronics like this, this is a first for me so I wanted everyone else in my position to see how easy this actually is so here we go Firstly this is my start/stop button This is the button you will find inside your Pt-01 which is activated by the movement of the tone arm Step 1: Remove the original button Step 2: cut the wires connected to the original button Step 3: get the wires out from underneath the rest of the tangle of wires Step 4: decide where your button is going to go I decided to put mine here which worked out perfectly with the length of the original wires saving me from having to add longer wires step 5: drill out your hole for your button (mines a bit messy my largest drill bit was still slightly smaller than the button) Step 6: now add your button Step 7: figure out where to run your wires I did mine like this Step 8: cut some grooves into the plastic casing to fit your wires into (the plastic is very soft and can easily be cut with a blade) Step 9: solder your wires on to your button (be sure to test your connections first) Step 10: run your wires through the grooves you cut and add a small spot of glue or tape or whatever you choose to hold the wires in place I used a hot glue gun And thats it your done I've also taken a whole bunch of photos of the internals of the Pt-01 for anyone to use as reference pics for mod tutorials or whatever you can find them here: http://s1053.photobucket.com/user/Djmadhatter0z/library/?sort=3&page=1
  2. yeh please do let us know if it works I dont do Iphones they piss me off haha but I have the old original Ipad I was hoping I could find a plug for it and test it out I wasnt sure if theres any difference in transfer speed between the older plug and the newer one hopefully it works
  3. Did everyone see the DVS setup that raiden shared via their facebook and probably instagram to its done by using the app djplayer and one of these lightning to usb camera adapters and a serato record cut down to size it seems to work pretty well from the video's I've seen they go straight from the usb iin the PT01 to an ipad or iphone using the lightning adapter http://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MD821AM/A/lightning-to-usb-camera-adapter?afid=p238%7Cs7vNDqjPU-dc_mtid_18707vxu38484_pcrid_57250790806_&cid=aos-au-kwg-pla-btb-slid-
  4. I have an old vestax pdx 2300 mkii pro I'm hoping someone can tell me what exactly is wrong with it when it starts spinning sometimes it can last for a couple of minutes sometimes a couple of seconds of working fine then it just suddenly stops and just starts just kinda rocking backwards and forwards does this sound like the motor is shot or is it maybe some loose wiring or bad connections I really know nothing about electronics and am pretty doubtful that I could fix it myself unless there was a step by step guide haha so basically can anyone tell me what could be wrong with it and if this would likely be something expensive to get fixed
  5. is my computer fucked or is your post fucked all I see is in other news: and a big empty space haha
  6. you can buy from the Japanese website I managed to buy one from there I think I just used the google translator to get through it I do remember there was something still a little confusing about purchasing but I managed it although it seems raiden faders are better quality seems to be the more popular choice so you might want to just do the preorder from them I'm pretty sure the frisk faders can be pretty slow to arrive anyway so the wait might not be much difference I'm gonna grab raiden pretty soon
  7. haha yeh how can you not to want to do it even without any experience with electronics what kind of fader do you have in there you seem to be getting pretty sharp cuts I ordered a couple of lil buttons off ebay after looking at your post and pics once I get the start/stop button sussed out I'll be moving on to installing a fader still wondering how to go about this part I was gonna just go with a cheap easy to install fader but I'm thinking it might be better to actually try and put something decent in there
  8. thanks so much man appreciate it I'm going into this with no experience at all haha so that's probly gonna help me out alot
  9. thats awesome was it easy to do you dont happen to have any pics of the inside and how you did it do you what kind of fader have you got in there
  10. Thanks rasteri I see what you mean that helps I will try to get a latching switch I figured of all mods this really should be the easiest thing so I thought I'd start with that hopefully it will give me the confidence to research a bit more and try some other stuff Just had a quick look on ebay there seems to be alot of these on there http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12V-16mm-LED-Metal-Car-Power-Push-Button-Switch-Angel-Eye-Latching-Type-On-off-/331706087165?hash=item4d3b3936fd:g:HQMAAOSwLzdWRCtp would something like this work I assume I would need to get a 12v one the same as the PT-01
  11. Hey guys new to the forums I came here because of this thread I got a PT-01 and a frisk fader fairly recently I'm interested in attempting some mods but I really don't know anything about this kinda stuff half of what's been posted here looks like some kinda alien language to me haha one thing I'm really interested in trying if I can figure out how is to add a start stop button how would I go about doing something like that would it be fairly simple? I do have a soldering iron the whole start stop with the tone arm really annoys me I was thinking it would be cool to add maybe like one of those arcade game style buttons as a start stop button
