  1. Apparently you can get a mad sound if you attach a mic to a slinky, dangle it down a stairwell, so that it's fully outstretched, and then tap the mic with a pencil. Give that a go if you haven't already. I've never actually heard it, I've just been told about it
  2. Mind = blown. The kid who made these says the second one is harder, but they both look as bad as each other.
  3. Cool, thanks for the feedback! I'm a bit annoyed with myself because I've just realised the channel I recorded this into, in my DAW, had a low cut filter applied to it at 150Hz! Never mind, you get the idea. I picked the 909 up for £500. That's quite pricey for a second hand mixer but there was hardly anything wrong with it. You could buy a car for the price of a new one!
  4. Balls! I posted this twice somehow. Can someone with Mod powers ditch one pleeease? Cheers
  5. Bought an RC-20XL a couple of years ago and never got around to using it. Decided to pull it out last week and came up with this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXKMzUr2sIo Let me know what you think. I really have to learn how to relax my limbs when I'm using this thing. My whole body feels like it's aged 30 years! Thanks
  6. Cheers mate! I'll drop him a line when I get a minute.
  7. https://www.mixcloud.com/joeclockwork/ Steve = Sigma. I never knew that! I still bump that 79 mix
  8. That can of Febreeze is always lurking in your scratch vids I've been doing a lot of what you were doing during the first minute. I like to switch between the open and the closed fader. One of each. No idea how you do the flicks. Those are next level.
  9. Oh word? I know EAN. Haven't seen him for years. His folk band's doing really well. Nice one Jon, I'll have to check this out.
  10. Yeah, that was a good read. I especially like his technique of sampling the high speed dubbing and transposing it back down to normal! He was supposed to collaborate with Sean Price at some point but it never happened. Shame, that would have been something. I use the Slate Digital VTM plugin on my beats and the results aren't ideal but probably the best you're likely to get in the digital realm, if you're after that tape sound. I might see what happens if I record all my finished projects to tape and then record that back into my DAW before mastering. I expect there will be a loss in quality but a nicer sound.
  11. Oh yeah, I also need an av! I'll fix that in a bit...
  12. Only just seen this thread... Hello all. I used to live in London and battle and post on Snatchon back in 2003 kind of time. Recognise a few peoples on here Nowadays I live in Cornwall and rock a PDX3000, a PDX2000 and a 909. Selling my Technics tomorrow *sob* Peace
