scratching over lyrics isnt such a bad thing, i wouldnt do it at a show, but for practice purposes, its a good way to vary up flow. follow the way the mc flows to the beat and you can turn that into your own flow and take it from there.....its not something to do at a show, butt for practice, its effective, at least for me

Me and my roomatre recently decided that needle wear is bullshit and its just a matter of cleaning your needles with a small brush and some rubbing alcohol. He has this pen microscope, pretty cool device, and we looked at both the needle i cut on and the needle i use to just play beats. after cleaning the needle i usually cut with i ooked at both under the microscope and the shape/point was EXACTLY the same. think about it, how the fuck is a peice of plastic going to wear down a chunk of diamond???? myth busters 4 lyfe holmes. one.

ok let me put the bullshit to rest now. I just bought an apple laptop, 1.5 GHz 80 GB hd, gig of ram 17". visually the shit is FUCKING AMAZING. if your a photoshoper, nothing beats a mac. Mac OSX has sick features, not to mention being able to run X side by side with aqua, Mac OSx's windowmanger, but it has a freebsd backend. any open source software you can think of is runnable. MacOSX also has something called expose, its the dopest shit ever when you got a desktop crowded with apps and you want to get to the desktop. it can single out certain windows and etc. It's not as quick to run applications, but once you learn the shortcuts you can get around on a mac quick and flawlessly. firewire?? yah thats mac technology. its fast as fuck, the firewire 800 transfers at 786 M/bs. no viruses, no spyware, i mean theres shit out there, but if your not a total fucking retard its very hard to get it. Ive had it for a month with no trouble, stable as fuck. production? mac has the sickest audio ever. the little speakers on this dont have serious bass, but its recognizable, and the highs/mids are loud and crystal fucking clear. last but not least is the sensors inside the notebook, which there are hacks for, which senses light and automatically adjusts the keyboard illumination/brightness, this changes ON ITS OWN. Thats mac innovation and technology and THATS why its pricy, but its some of the sickest, yet prettiest hardware out. there are some cons and if you want i can lay them out, but this is why people buy macs. btw, if you didnt hear me, IT HAS A FBSD BACKEND, CMON WTF N00B

first unpack the files, when you unrar it you will get either a setup file or a .bin/.cue. if its a .bin/.cue you can burn it to disk, if its just a setup file, run the setup and it should install from there.

my roomie is building some equipment for turntablists, and was curious what y'all think about it. here's the info: the first design will be very basic. it is a device that sticks on to your 1200 (techs only at this point) next to the platter, and measures the platter speed. it then displays the relative pitch shift, and this is displayed as the amount of shift up or down the musical scale. This way, you'd be able to quickly and precisely set a record speed so it was, for example, three steps higher to match the key of another record. It would also display the % pitch change too, should anyone be interested (the pitch slider markings only give a ballpark figure). it should be priced at under 100$. any thoughts?
