  1. I have the PT-01 and have tried the Handytrax. Like you I like the shape of the PT and it has more space (depending on your style) to place your portable fader. The platter on the PT is good, you might need a little weight on the cart as I find it a bit skippy when doing harder cuts like stabs. The Handy trax isn't really shaped best for a portable fader. There isn't much room to place a portable fader. But hands down the platter is a lot stronger than the PT and feels a better. This is subjective but from what others have gathered they would prefer the platter of the Handytrax. The biggest issue when comparing these two is availability of said portables. PT's are still being made and aren't that expensive. Handytrax on the other hand, good luck finding one and at close to its retail price. You might be able to find them at smaller electronic/music stores that have no idea that they're discontinued or that there is a portable scratch boom. But last I checked online for a Handytrax you're looking over $3-$400.
  2. Anyone here planning on picking up the 1200 plates fader crib? I've seen 1200plates on this forum. Wondering if we could get some kind of DV discount
  3. OS X Yosemite was free and pretty much most of the current iterations.....
  4. Yeah it was me asking..... Looks like I might bite on this.

I started on belts, trust me ultra pitch will fail on a belt Anyone know where I can get this for less than $48+shipping?
  6. yeah my IG feed was going off about this. Cool concept. The adjustable fader and everything. But I'm skeptical at this time. It's literally a piece of paper right now. If this thing goes to Kickstarter without a solid manufacturer backing it I'm not biting. It'll be a long time before this comes to fruition. Oh and the belt drive.... how hard is it to put in direct drive? I'm assuming the belt drive reduces cost and weight and all that.
  7. Congrats Jake!!! Unfortunately thats not me pictured.... some guy... thought it was Sheldon from BBT.
  8. He won a pair of PLXs... No 62 for this final.
  9. So as expected Vekked won the Canadian final. Congrats Jake! I noticed you had a little trouble at the start of your set and the last juggle was a bit fudged up but on the real you're still levels higher than the rest of the competition. I was hoping you would have thrown them PLXs into the crowd as well...... Here's a little clip of Jake shitting on my portable with his version of the mic drop trying to shut down our post DMC Final cut session....
  10. Hey, do any of you guys have a Raiden fader? I have one but not liking the velcro. Last month I was a UDJ? session here in Toronto and the guy who started it (Lee) who deals heavily with modding and fixing DJ gear had an incredible portable setup. His PT01 had a start stop, which I'd love to do myself. But his beta raiden was modded with magnets on the bottom. I don't even think the fader itself was from raiden either, his felt more substantial, not plasticy like the raiden. Anyway, I want to put magnets in my raiden as I too have a PT01 and fortunately the PT01 has a metal top. But I thought to myself, why bother with trying to insert magnets when I could just buy either a heavy duty or regular magnet like the ones on fridges. I'm sure it's fairly cheap to buy a strip and just stick on the bottom. But I'm not sure it'll hold on as tightly as stronger magnets. Any suggestions?
  11. looks like a platter on the side of vintage motor home. Wheres the tone arm? Panasonic going all hipster on us.....
  12. Congrats... sick there's so many DMC competitors on DV.
  13. Numark NS7 1 & 2 have moving platters with a decorative vinyl piece on top. It does feel like a real TT platter for the most part.
  14. Sick Vekked, props to Brace as well! During that guitar solo, lol, at 1:12 were you using a foot pedal? I bought one for my 909, just a generic one to trigger effects, basically on and off. But for some reason the pedal when left alone is just triggering the effects. Stepping on it turns it off. I'm thinking of getting a more elaborate one. What are you using/suggestions?
  15. As someone from Toronto.... I agree with this.... Lol
  16. lol... i was reading your other post on the S9..... wasn't meant as a bash on you or anyone really wanting a gold colorway. It's just historically gold was earned, in the DMC world that is. The S9/gldPLX are gold tones. But a skin where its reflective gold thats an imitation of what is earned is sauce of the weak variety. I'm actually more peeved about the noobs out there not knowing the work and skill involved in earning the real deal.
  17. Just imagine Jake, Winning DMC and being gifted with a true Gold pair of TT's and Mixer?!!!!
  18. Ok so Pioneer came out with their new mixer and debuted the gold PLX as well as the gold S9. It looked alright. I'm not a gold fan when it comes to gear. Tech 12 GLDLTDs seem to be the unicorn of 1200s are a hefty price on the online market. I'm not a collector so my interest is minimal at best. Craze posted this a couple weeks ago and when going through the comments I was in awe about the clueless DJ's out there. I read this and I was like, are you fucking kidding me?! Then I comment on DJWorx about the gold PLX & S9 combo. Then get a reply from 12inchskinz about how Craze used their skin on his Z2 for his New Slaves routine. To me, Gold gear is fucking earned. What Craze posted is what being dominant 3 years in a row is like. I was hating on 12inch skinz when they started promoting their gold skins for the 62 and other gear. I don't mind their other products. I even have a silver/black 12inch skin on my 909. But IMO, true gold gear is earned and not purchased, unless you're a collector striving for the GLDLTD 12s. But in recent years DMC has only been giving out Gold mixers(Rane). I think Pioneer should pony up and do what Technics did and build true Gold TT's for the DMC champion. I feel wanting to having a gold setup, be it a controller or CDJs or Mixer via a skin is weak sauce. It's like, why earn a real trophy when you can just go to the trophy store and buy one? SMH
  19. This album bangs. I know some of you aint feeling that west coast vibe but Dre really brought some polished work on this album. Genocide with Kendrick is my jam right now, that shit knocks hard...... Don't know why it took Dre so damn long to come out. He was saying how he felt that Detox was a lot shittier than this. But I'm sure there are Detox tracks on Compton. Smart on the Dr. to donate all the proceeds of this album to Compton. Gunna have to donate some more to get that good tax break still.
  20. RIP Ruck! Sad that these guys are dying so young. Heltah Skeltah was a staple growing up. To me the whole Duck Down was the grittiest and rawest out of all the groups that came out of NY.
  21. Is there a screen on the mixer? Just wondering when using any loops aside from using Serato to indicate measures. *** Saw it in the video... placement is like the 62 but not as large or prominent. Texting with my buddies this morning and its all.... "I'm copping it!!!"
  22. It looks like poo. The layout looks terrible and does not resemble anything like the 909 other than having 'Pioneer' on it. Talking with my buddy on the weekend about how the new TRX is the 'all you need' 2 ch. mixer in the sub $500 range. But IMO the Z2 takes the cake for budget friendly 2 Ch. mixers. I'm sure this thing is going to be well over 1K. I'll stick to my 909 with thoughts of throwing an SL2 or DS1 in it.
